Chapter 27: Chapter 27: Punishment, Copy a Thousand Times and Send it to Me

Lu Jingzhi pinched the bridge of his nose, “I can’t argue with you, I’m not talking to you anymore.”
After saying that, he picked up his cell phone and left for the office to work overtime.
Su Mian yelled after him, “Don’t bother coming back, it’s so upsetting!”
Lu Jingzhi’s steps faltered, almost tumbling down the stairs to his death.
Lu Ting’s heart was in turmoil. What did Su Mian mean by her words, that even if Qiao Yun tarnished the family’s name, they would still adore and favor her?
Then was her previous effort, her cautious restraint and attempts to please them, all just a joke?
Qiao Yun! She really shouldn’t have come back!
Thinking of the way Qiao Yun had looked at her earlier, Lu Ting still felt uneasy. As long as Qiao Yun was in the Lu Family, she would be unhappy!
…
After Qiao Yun went upstairs, she placed the gift from Lu Jingzhi in a corner and never touched it again.
Afterward, she sat on the bed spaced out for a while, fell backward, covered herself with a blanket, and went to sleep.
That night, however, several people had trouble sleeping.
Su Mian tossed and turned in bed, turning over and back, until finally, Lu’s father pinned her down, “Are you making pancakes?”
“I just don’t understand, the elder brother is too eager to turn Qiaoqiao into a phoenix,” Su Mian stared at the ceiling, puzzled.
Lu Rui, who understood Lu Jingzhi’s personality better, responded, “Jingzhi’s nature is such that he doesn’t tolerate any imperfection at work. A minor mistake could result in a scolding, drenched in blood. He just demands perfection.”
Su Mian suddenly sat up, startling Lu Rui almost to the point of falling under the bed.
“Qiaoqiao is his sister, not his subordinate, he demands perfection! He thinks Qiaoqiao is data that can be changed if not liked!”
“Alright, alright.”
Lu Rui quickly soothed, “Don’t be angry. Qiaoqiao just came back; he hasn’t found his place yet. After they spend more time together, he will know what to do.”
Su Mian’s face showed her distress, “I just, I just feel sorry for Qiaoqiao, she had such a hard time as a child, what’s wrong with indulging her now?”
Lu Rui tucked Su Mian into the blanket, his voice weary, “Don’t worry too much. Trying to help might only add to the chaos. Let them, the siblings, resolve their issues themselves.”
Lu’s father’s educational approach had always been to not meddle in the younger generation’s affairs. Besides, they were both adults now and it was not suitable for them to intervene.
Meanwhile, Lu Jingzhi, in his office, was searching solemnly on his computer.
“How to bring a rebellious sister back on the right path.”
Labelled as rebellious, since returning from the old house, Qiao Yun resumed her life as an internet-addicted girl and hadn’t seen Lu Jingzhi during this period.
It was not until Wednesday that she received a call from Pei Yao.
“Boss, wake up, I’ve brought you something, I’ll be there soon.”
Qiao Yun muttered with her eyes closed, her voice hoarse, “What?”
“A gown! A super gorgeous gown! A gown that will dazzle everyone!”
Qiao Yun’s voice was soft and sweet, “Why are you sending me a gown?”
“Boss, don’t tell me you’ve forgotten; today is your half-sister’s birthday party.”
“Oh, what does it have to do with me.” Qiao Yun was disinterested; she just wanted to sleep.
Pei Yao was frustrated, “Of course it matters. Why hold a party for her first before having one for you! Do they think you’re too timid to complain or that no one cares for you?”
“Tonight, I want you to outshine everyone, conquer all sides, emerge as the top, and be the most dazzling one! Bring glory to our Shengqiao Group for generations!”
Qiao Yun was silent for a while, then faintly responded, “Don’t misuse idioms, copy them a thousand times and send them to me.”
Reaching for glory was a bit too much.
After a yawn, she added, “Handwritten.”
