“Swamp trap!”
Immediately, the ground beneath the Fossil Giant began to stir. The earth rapidly condensed and formed a massive swamp!
Due to the giant’s enormous size and weight, his legs immediately sank into the swamp. He struggled to lift his feet out of the muck, slowly making his way forward with great effort.
Fang Heng’s eyes glinted as a book appeared before him once more.
Book of Nature!
Wild growth!
“Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!!!”
With a surge of mental strength, the Book of Nature blossomed with a faint green light.
In an instant, vines and branches shot out from the dense swamp, quickly extending toward the giant’s legs and spiraling upward.
The Fossil Giant tried to take another step but found himself not only trapped in the thick swamp but also entangled by a mass of vines.
“Crack!!!”
With a forceful tug, the giant ripped the vines apart using pure strength!
Fang Heng’s eyes narrowed with a touch of concentration.
(vitag.Init = window.vitag.Init || []).push(function(){viAPItag.display(“vi_765923973”)})
He couldn’t control it?
Whoosh!!
Fang Heng swiftly switched to the Book of the Dead.
Wailing of the Departed!
With each mournful cry of the undead, gray arms reached out from the swamp, clawing at the giant’s feet in an attempt to drag it deeper into the muck.
The Fossil Giant’s movements slowed further. Each time he lifted a foot, it seemed like he was moving in slow motion, yet he still managed to break free from the undead’s grasp, continuing his slow march forward.
Troublesome!
Fang Heng kept his focus on the Fossil Giant.
Even after applying three different control-type spells simultaneously, he still couldn’t fully trap the creature.
At least its speed had been significantly reduced, and it was now stuck in the swamp area, unable to escape for a short period.
So now…
Behind Fang Heng, the Licker group summoned during the last trial quickly gathered, forming flesh cocoons on the spot.
In the blink of an eye, vine-shaped zombie clones crawled out from the flesh cocoons.
The vine-bodied zombie clones slowly gathered near the edge of the swamp area, extending fine vines from their bodies, which rapidly spread toward the Fossil Giant in an attempt to tightly entangle and restrain it.
Over two hundred zombie clones, each extending vines from their bodies, tightly wrapped the Fossil Giant.
“That should do it!”
Seeing the Fossil Giant finally trapped in place, unable to move, Fang Heng let out a long breath and slowly took a few steps back.
Now he could begin experimenting with various methods to seal it.
The Fossil Giant’s level was high.
Using ordinary high-tier sealing runes would result in a significant penalty to the success rate, which would drop to less than 0.01%.
On the other hand, choosing to craft master-level rune paper would take more time but slightly improve the success rate.
Forget it, he would go with high-tier runes.
Although the level was lower and the sealing success rate would be lower, the crafting difficulty was also a tier lower, and the efficiency was much higher, allowing him to make them in batches.
After all, he had his zombie clones!
He would just use the number of zombie clones to stack the success rate!
There was no time limit in this trial anyway.
He could take his time to grind it out.
Fang Heng had briefly weighed his options and then decided to grind out experience points for his sealing art skill.
After a short moment of consideration, he quickly gathered a batch of zombie clones to sacrifice themselves, then turned back toward the crafting bench at the edge of the trial cavern. There, he began crafting high-tier sealing rune paper.
In the monitoring hall, a group of sealing art scholars exchanged looks, their eyes reflecting surprise.
This was unexpected!
Fang Heng had once again defied their expectations!
He had switched between multiple academic disciplines and, through the layering of effects, had succeeded in completely trapping the Fossil Giant!
Normally, to successfully pass this trial, one had to withstand the giant’s attacks and various distractions while still completing the seal. It required both the individual’s power and their sealing art abilities to work in tandem.
Not even many of the scholars in the hall could complete this trial, as its difficulty was extremely high.
But Fang Heng had successfully trapped the Fossil Giant, giving him a huge advantage. The sealing difficulty had been reduced by more than half.
Even so, sealing the Fossil Giant was still extremely difficult.
Moreover, when the examiners saw Fang Heng’s next move, their expressions grew more serious.
Huh?
The examiners exchanged confused glances, and the uncertainty in their eyes became clear.
Something wasn’t right.
Fang Heng had already advanced to master-level alchemy, so why was he choosing to craft high-tier sealing rune paper instead?
This was strange.
Looking at Fang Heng’s demeanor, it didn’t seem like he was giving up.
Was he doing this on purpose?
Did he have another special method?
Everyone in the hall was puzzled, and their gazes shifted toward Mo Jianghe.
Mo Jianghe himself was equally unsure of what Fang Heng was up to. He couldn’t help but wonder, “What is this kid trying now?”
However, on the surface, Mo Jianghe wouldn’t reveal any confusion. With a dignified cough, he tried to maintain a composed demeanor, saying, “Ahem, don’t worry, just wait a bit. You’ll understand soon enough. Come on, it’s almost time for breakfast, let’s eat while we chat…”
Seeing that Mo Jianghe wasn’t offering any explanations, the examiners grew even more curious, and they couldn’t even enjoy breakfast properly.
“Look over there!”
After nearly three hours, one of the examiners suddenly noticed something, his focus sharpening as he stared at the mirror projection.
The rest of the examiners followed his gaze toward Fang Heng in the exam room.
What was that?!
Fang Heng’s surroundings suddenly glowed with magic arrays!
Huh?!
Summons?!
One after another, zombie creatures emerged from the magic arrays, lined up in a row, and walked past Fang Heng. As they passed, they each took a stack of sealing papers from in front of him.
The examiners’ expressions grew solemn as they focused intently on the projection. A premonition started to stir within them.
Could it be?
They felt that they were about to witness something surprising. Their eyes filled with astonishment.
The zombies, holding the sealing rune papers, staggered their way to the Fossil Giant, which was firmly trapped by vines and the swamp.
Sealing technique!
“Snap!”
The rune paper was thrown, only to burst into pieces.
The seal failed!
[Hint: Your zombie clone (vine form) tried to seal the Fossil Giant, but the seal failed…]
[Hint: The player gains grandmaster-level sealing srt experience points +6,263.]
Fang Heng looked at the game prompt that appeared on his retina, his expression lighting up with surprise.
So much experience!?
Even in the death realm, even with the best luck, successfully sealing a ghost golem wouldn’t yield this much experience!
Could it be because the Fossil Giant’s level was high? Or maybe it had high sealing resistance?
Fang Heng couldn’t believe his luck and grinned.
He was getting more experience than he ever expected.
He decided to keep going.
“Again!”
“Snap!”
Another seal failed!
In just a few minutes, a swarm of zombie clones gathered around the Fossil Giant, all attempting to seal it!
