Chapter 425: Chapter 425 Please Stop Pestering Yang Qingyin
(Chapter 20 Update, another triple update)
After hearing that it was Fang Dongxun who invited Luo Ziling for coffee, Ling Ruonan thought for a moment and didn’t stop him, instead, she let Luo Ziling go.
She didn’t give too many instructions, only telling Luo Ziling to stay calm in any situation.
Initially planning to have lunch with Ling Ruonan, Luo Ziling left after receiving Fang Dongxun’s call.
After he left, Ling Ruonan immediately instructed Wuyue to send two people to secretly follow him, to prevent any accidents befalling Luo Ziling.
She cautioned Wuyue not to let Luo Ziling find out about it.
Wuyue naturally agreed and immediately arranged for men to secretly follow Luo Ziling.
Luo Ziling declined Wuyue’s offer to accompany him, took a taxi by himself, and arrived at the “Mingdian” cafe as mentioned by Fang Dongxun.
By the time he arrived, Fang Dongxun was already waiting there.
Two tall men dressed in black stood at the entrance of the private room, who were likely Fang Dongxun’s bodyguards.
Luo Ziling could feel a strong murderous aura emanating from the two black-clothed men who kept their piercing gaze on him as he approached.
Having experienced this feeling before with Li Haiyang, Fenghuang, and Lin Lan, Luo Ziling was alert but not afraid, and he walked confidently to the door of the private room, pushing it open without the bodyguards giving him so much as a glance.
One of the bodyguards intended to open the door for Luo Ziling, but Luo Ziling’s movements were quicker, he pushed the door open by himself, causing the bodyguard a moment of surprise.
When Luo Ziling pushed the door open and entered, he saw Fang Dongxun, dressed in a coffee-colored casual suit, sitting alone and drinking coffee.
“Oh, Mr. Luo has arrived,” without waiting for Luo Ziling to greet him, Fang Dongxun greeted him first, standing up and reaching out his hand to Luo Ziling.
Luo Ziling shook hands with Fang Dongxun and replied with a smile, “To be invited by Mr. Fang is indeed a surprise and an honor.”
“What would you like to drink?” Fang Dongxun released Luo Ziling’s hand and made a gesture for him to sit down, “I’m not sure what Mr. Luo prefers, so I didn’t make any decisions for you. But I strongly recommend you order the Mingdian set meal. The Chinese food here is quite good; I like it a lot, so I recommend it to you. The freshly brewed coffee is also nice; you might want to try it.”
In just a few sentences, Luo Ziling could tell that the man in front of him, who was quite hearty and handsome, was also quite domineering, decisive in his actions, and liked to impose his thoughts onto others.
“I’ll have a cup of Longjing green tea, please. I just like drinking tea,” Luo Ziling sat down and then answered Fang Dongxun’s question, “Then I’ll take your advice, Mr. Fang, and order the Mingdian set meal.”
Ordering green tea in a coffee shop, Fang Dongxun couldn’t help but give Luo Ziling an extra glance, but he didn’t say anything and called the waiter to bring what Luo Ziling ordered.
Soon, a steaming cup of Longjing tea was brought up, but the meal would take a bit longer.
Luo Ziling took a sip of his tea and then smiled, “It seems the tea leaves are just average.”
Hearing Luo Ziling say this, Fang Dongxun immediately furrowed his brows, called the waiter in, and sternly reprimanded them for serving subpar tea instead of the best one for his friend. He even called the manager over and gave him a dressing-down right there.
Luo Ziling didn’t expect Fang Dongxun to have such a big temper, but he didn’t speak up to stop him. He just sat quietly, letting Fang Dongxun go on with his tantrum.
Eventually, the embarrassed manager, with the nearly tearful waitress in tow, bowed and scraped as they left, and very quickly another cup of tea was brought.
It was still Longjing, but the taste was completely different from the previous cup, truly a top-quality Longjing.
Hearing that Luo Ziling had no further complaints, Fang Dongxun finally felt satisfied, “Who would have thought that this little café would dare to pass off inferior goods for good ones, fooling us with bad tea. And I often entertain guests here; I’ll have to take care of this later. Please don’t take it to heart, Mr. Luo, it was my oversight.”
Luo Ziling was pondering over Fang Dongxun’s performance just now and quickly concluded that it had been deliberate.
As for why Fang Dongxun did this, Luo Ziling couldn’t figure it out at the moment. He thought it might be to embarrass him, or something along those lines.
He didn’t mind, and with a chuckle, he told Fang Dongxun not to worry about it, that it was just a cup of tea, nothing serious.
Luo Ziling wouldn’t ask why Fang Dongxun had invited him for coffee; he wanted Dongxun to reveal it himself. By doing this, he made it clear that he didn’t take Fang Dongxun’s invitation seriously, and he wasn’t even interested in proactively finding out the reason for it.
Fang Dongxun was somewhat surprised that Luo Ziling didn’t actively inquire about the purpose of his invitation.
During the interval while waiting for their meal, Fang Dongxun said with a smile, “I wouldn’t have thought Mr. Luo had such a capacity for alcohol. At Huihui’s birthday, you drank all of us under the table yet were completely fine yourself. I have really never seen anyone who can match your drinking ability. Impressive, haha!”
“Acting on impulse,” Luo Ziling chuckled without going into too much detail about that event.
“I heard that several people vomited that day. Ling Haining and his brother Ling Haijun are the worst at holding their liquor; Haijun even ended up in the hospital. Such weaklings,” Fang Dongxun disparaged the Ling brothers bluntly, then said with a hint of mystery, “I can tell that the Ouyang sisters have a different regard for you!”
“I’m handsome, so it’s normal for them to see me in a different light,” Luo Ziling shamelessly boasted, then leisurely sipped his tea.
Fang Dongxun almost choked on Luo Ziling’s words, coughing vigorously twice before laughing, “Mr. Luo really is a frank person, and I like that directness in conversation.”
“Hold on, my sexual orientation is normal,” Luo Ziling gestured with his hands, “You’re a big guy, don’t like me. I just hope women like me!”
Fang Dongxun was taken aback again. This person in front of him was truly unconventional, the likes of which he’d never encountered before.
So far, Fang Dongxun hadn’t been able to fully investigate Luo Ziling’s real identity. When he sent people to look into it, he found that many details about Luo Ziling had been deliberately concealed. This surprised Fang Dongxun, and he understood clearly that someone like Luo Ziling, whose information was intentionally hidden, must have an extraordinary background.
As for how extraordinary, Fang Dongxun had an idea.
But to think, Luo Ziling was so proud and dismissive, not giving him the slightest face. The responses he gave were completely unexpected.
Ordinarily, if someone heard him speak like this, they would definitely try to ingratiate themselves a bit. Even those of equivalent status and position would surely be polite. No one would react like Luo Ziling.
After giving Luo Ziling a serious look, Fang Dongxun smiled again, “Mr. Luo is truly a man of honesty. I really enjoy dealing with such people, where we can talk straightforwardly about anything.”
“Please speak, Mr. Fang!”
Fang Dongxun was startled again, feeling a bit grinding in his heart, but his face still wore a smile, “Alright, I’ll say it then. I have a request, please don’t involve yourself with Yang Qingyin.”
