The Trash Wants to Live - Chapter 61
Chapter 61
PR: Naa_chi
“Umm, should I have introduced you to someone else other than Chuck?”
Everyone fell silent and stood still. Although they hadn’t felt intimidated, Rachel started exaggerating as if trying to change the mood. She looked around, then caught someone on her radar…
“Oh! There she is! Dunner!”
The light brown haired woman who had just entered the gym turned towards Rachel’s call. I couldn’t help but catch my breath at that moment.
It’s Isabella.
Isabella Dunner—the strongest SNT person I knew of, and one of Jang Eui Yeol’s harem figures.
There are two heroines from the protagonist’s harem gathered here.
Ki Hyun Joo and Isabella—the two of them didn’t have compatible personalities. Isabella hated Ki Hyun Joo as a wicked woman, and Ki Hyun Joo hated Isabella as a cold person. They would fight all the time as soon as they met in the original novel, so I wondered if they would start fighting with each other immediately…
Oh?
Isabella, who came closer after Rachel’s call, was not the Isabella from the original novel. Her face, which had been described as exuding coldness that could be felt just by being beside her, had a shy smile with a faint blush.
“Did you call me, Rachel?”
“Yes, Miss Dunner. These are people from Sungwoon in Korea.”
“Ah! The closed gate…”
Her blue eyes sparkled. Her sparkling eyes scanned over us and stopped at Jung Yi Joon. When she saw that Jung Yi Joon and I were holding hands, her gaze skipped over me. Perhaps it was because we’re holding hands that I didn’t enter her gaze.
I was slightly hurt by this. When she looked at Jang Eui Yeol, my heart pounded again. However, her gaze was cold and it didn’t last for more than a second.
The last person she saw was Kwon Jae Hyuk. As soon as she saw Kwon Jae Hyuk’s face, her face looked so refreshed it was as if flowers were blooming. I couldn’t take my eyes off her.
“It’s you, isn’t it?”
“Hmm?”
“The gifted person who closed the gate.”
Her eyes started to shine like jewels. I wondered if there were two Isabella Dunners as she continued looking at him as if he was her favourite idol.
“Miss Dunner is a water-attribute gifted person. She’s our rookie at SNT.”
If there was a gifted person with a water attribute named Isabella Dunner, then it was the person I knew of.
What was going on here? She didn’t fight with the other rival heroines and didn’t pay attention to the main character from the original story. Her personality was also different…
Unlike I, who was confused, Isabella calmly spoke to Rachel as she waved her hand, “Oh, what are you talking about Rachel. Everyone is strong. I’m too ordinary and have to keep up with them.”
“But aren’t you 16? You are the most anticipated rookie in terms of potential, aren’t you?”
Isabella’s cheeks turned even redder at Rachel’s compliment. Still, she completely had the look of a fan while watching Kwon Jae Hyuk. She kept glancing at his face to see how he reacted.
Jang Eui Yeol beside me didn’t even know that his heroine had been taken away. He just smiled, and somehow I got emotional.
You idiot, her gaze is something you deserve.
Kwon Jae Hyuk also smiled as if the situation was funny. But why? For what reason did his smiling face look so hateful? Was I that pissed off because I was empathising with the main character or…
What’s with his nice smile?
Was it because I was jealous that he was enjoying the situation; so much so that he wasn’t feeling troubled? I didn’t know.
“Excuse me… Can I get your autograph?”
“My signature?”
“Yes, here… on the T-shirt.”
When she realised that she was empty-handed, she tugged at the front hem of her T-shirt to flatten it. But there couldn’t be paper without a pen, so Isabella looked around and picked up a marker from a nearby chalkboard. Kwon Jae Hyuk found the situation odd and amusing and made a strange face as he signed the T-shirt as she wished.
“Thank you so much! I’ll treasure it forever!”
Isabella looked down at her T-shirt and went back to change her clothes. She couldn’t possibly exercise in a T-shirt signed by him.
I looked at Kwon Jae Hyuk with narrowed eyes while he was still staring at the marker with a strange expression on his face. He smiled at me when our eyes met.
For some reason, heartache surged from within me, so I turned my head. Why did I feel so betrayed?
After that, Rachel introduced a few other gifted people. They were all friendly, especially towards Kwon Jae Hyuk. Some gifted people asked if they could call Kwon Jae Hyuk, ‘Master’ because although his appearance didn’t look strong, he seemed relaxed for some reason. Just like an oriental master.
“Master…”
Hearing those words, Kwon Jae Hyuk lost his composure. With a troubled face, he waved his hand saying that he wasn’t that kind of person; however, it sounded like mere humbleness to them. They admired him even more, saying, “As expected, Master is also humble.” They seemed to be hard-core fans of classic Hong Kong movies.
While men showed respect and reverence as seen in the movies, the women were more active.
If Isabella treated Kwon Jae Hyuk with the sensibilities of an innocent girl, other women openly enticed him.
“Will you come to my room later?”
“I have a hotel room that I booked…”
“Then should I go to your hotel?”
“There’s a hotel far from here…”
Kwon Jae Hyuk was bewildered, but firmly held up his iron wall. Many different women flirted with him, but repeatedly failed to break through his iron wall.
“Hmm. You’re not easy. Are you, darling?”
After bouncing off the iron wall a few times, these women winked at him and disappeared, telling him to visit them if he ever changed his mind. Ki Hyun Joo, who was standing nearby and watching, smiled and nudged him slightly with her elbow.
“Oh, you’re so popular.”
“…No, I’m not.”
Rachel also laughed mischievously and dishonestly when Kwon Jae Hyuk denied Ki Hyun Joo with a tired face.
“Oh, my turn won’t even come.”
In the end, Kwon Jae Hyuk covered his face with both hands. When I saw him in trouble, the uncomfortable feeling disappeared, and I burst out laughing.
“Hmm, it’s a bit early, but it’s time for lunch. How about we go to sector C after lunch?”
Sector C was probably the lab. I wanted to hear the various explanations, but as Rachel said, I thought it would be best to eat first and then go there and listen to the explanations while looking around. When I nodded, the others agreed to do the same.
To get to the restaurant, we went through another hallway than the one in sector B.
The SNT sectors were woven into a web of long corridors with bulkheads.
Several corridors interlocked with each other to create intersections, and doors to other sectors could be seen in the middle of the corridors. All the corridors seemed to be connected and led to the living area.
“This is the living area. There’s a dining hall, resting facilities, and a little further inside there’s a dormitory.”
Rachel guided us to a canteen near the entrance. The dark-tiled canteen was like the student canteens seen in American teen movies. There was a dining table with food on one side, and a long table with chairs lined up on both sides of it.
It was still early, so there weren’t many people inside. I could see some of the people who had been introduced at the gym, but most of them were strangers.
They glanced at us and turned back their heads in disinterest, or they had brief conversations with the person beside them. As they chatted, all eyes were on Kwon Jae Hyuk. He was like the main character in the spotlight.
He definitely is… protagonist material.
He was young, handsome, and had great talent as a Weapon Master. In fantasy novels, the man who wielded the sword was the main character. Most fantasy novels were like that.
He even regressed.
Thus, he had a lot of information and knew about future technologies that no one else could use. Wasn’t he the real main character? Now, if he could just make a harem, it would be easier to steal the role of the main character from Jang Eui Yeol than to breathe.
But… Kwon Jaehyuk is gay.
He was a pure gay who only looked at Ki Yoon Jae. That was why he couldn’t make a harem and couldn’t become the main character. Thinking of this, I suddenly felt better and couldn’t help but smile.
Well. The genre of this world is male-oriented harem fantasy, not BL. If it were a BL, who is the heroine? Perhaps, me?
Ahahaha! I burst out laughing internally. Me, a heroine! Such a thing could not happen. Oh! It couldn’t happen, even if the world were split in half!
T/N: The heroine is you, Yoonjae lol
