Xinjie also hadn’t seen her before and simply stood to one side with a bottle of mineral water.
She shook her head at Mei Yi’s manager.
Seeing Yan Lu and the others getting out of the car, the middle-aged woman took a couple of steps forward to shake hands with Yan Lu and Mei Yi, “Miss Yan Lu, Mr. Mei Yi, welcome to our Xiangcheng. Today’s schedule has been arranged for you.”
“This is…?” Mei Yi looked towards Yan Lu; he didn’t know her and was just waiting for Yan Lu to introduce her.
Yan Lu didn’t know her either, and Jiang Fulai didn’t say.
“My name is Sun Dan,” the woman said with a hearty smile, measuring the distance appropriately and her demeanor efficient and decisive. “I was transferred to the Xiangcheng Culture and Tourism Bureau last month. I am very happy that your program could come here.”
As she spoke, she had someone from behind hand over Xiangcheng’s cultural and creative gift bags to the crew.
The director was somewhat surprised; was it actually someone from the official Cultural and Tourism Bureau?
Sun Dan didn’t stay in front of the cameras for long. She had someone take Yan Lu and Mei Yi to tour around and went to greet the director proactively, “I heard your variety show is an online series?”
She had quite a commanding presence, which made the director respond subconsciously, “Yes, it’s a bit difficult to get on satellite TV.”
Their show was an online series, which could generate more heat if it went on satellite because some older people don’t watch online shows.
“Is that so?” Sun Dan pulled out her phone, “I’ll leave you a number. Later, get in touch with Director Zhang. For lunch, I’ll treat everyone. It’s only proper to play host since you’ve come to Xiangcheng.”
Sun Dan had someone lead them inside for tourism, and then she hurried off again.

After the people left, the director exchanged glances with Xinjie and Mei Yi’s manager, saying, “Director Zhang? The only Director Zhang I know of is… ”
The director was initially going to ask Xinjie but, seeing her also looking bewildered, he turned to ask the several young people wearing cultural and creative T-shirts who Ms. Sun was.
“You mean Director Sun?” The young man scratched his head. “She’s the head of our Culture and Tourism Bureau. She just transferred from Jiangjing last month; she used to be with the Jiangjing Cultural and Tourism Bureau…”
The logistics department was very quiet. At first, no one, including the director, spoke.
“Someone from the Cultural and Tourism Bureau?” Two minutes later, the director realized what had happened and subconsciously looked at Xinjie, “My Xinjie, why didn’t you say something sooner!”
“Come Here Friend,” an online variety show. Although popular, how did it catch the attention of the Culture and Tourism Bureau?
And this Ms. Sun is from Jiangjing? She knows Director Zhang?
Mei Yi’s manager was also shocked.
It was one thing for Dean Jian to be an official figure, but now another official, more proper official had shown up, and they were going to treat them to lunch.
Xinjie: “…”
… you ask her, but whom should she ask?
“Was my attitude just now a bit rude?” the director asked, now fully aware of the situation.

Bai Lian spent the entire day studying in the library.
On the weekend, Yang Lin had two part-time jobs and left with her backpack at three in the afternoon. Jian Zhe had developed the habit of reading every day and asked Bai Lian quite a few questions today.
Ji Heng and Jiang Fulai caught quite a few fish today and invited Bai Lian’s classmates over for dinner.
A little after four in the afternoon, Bai Lian led them back home first since Pu Xiaohan planned to film a day in the life of a fish video and include it in Ji Heng’s current edit.
Pu Xiaohan had taken the filming of the video for Ji Heng’s and the three embroideresses’ graduation gowns very seriously. It required three months of filming, and she planned to make a 20-minute video.
Thus, there was plenty of material to gather.
In the yard, Bureau Chief Chen was still showing the fish he caught to the children who had come back, one by one on the ground.
“Xiaotang, look, these are the fish I caught,” Bureau Chief Chen told Tang Ming.
Tang Ming gave a deep “Hmm” in response.
Bureau Chief Chen looked at him oddly, “Are you okay?”
Not getting the feedback he was hoping for, Bureau Chief Chen simply stopped talking to him. Ning Xiao was even more silent than Tang Ming, so Bureau Chief Chen went to talk to Pu Xiaohan, “This one I caught, this one is by Master Jiang, this is Uncle Ji…”
Pu Xiaohan was very considerate to Bureau Chief Chen; she captured footage of the fish he caught with her camera.
After showing his friends, Bureau Chief Chen saw Jiang Fulai casually holding a basket of vegetables. In a jolt, he quickly stood up, “You and Miss Bai should rest. I will take over the cooking!”
Bai Lian handled the knife, slowly sizing up the fish.
The back of the knife gleamed coldly.
It made it seem as though she was about to dissect the fish into pieces.
Upon hearing, she looked over at Bureau Chief Chen, raising an eyebrow, “You?”
“Certainly,” said Bureau Chief Chen with confidence. He had specifically consulted with Chi Lu before returning to Jiangjing, so he set the basket aside and took the knife from Bai Lian’s hand, “Don’t worry.”
If worse came to worst, he would video call Chi Yundai.
Bai Lian stood aside, watching Bureau Chief Chen skillfully slice the fish into fillets, and that’s when she believed him.
