The Fifteenth Night Part 2
Long Aotian realized that all his tricks were useless in front of the kitten; his solemn expression collapsed. He suddenly lifted the dark, heavy fabric…
Joyce had a bad feeling. When she was struggling to get out of his hand again, and there was a “swoosh”, her fear was reaching the breaking point.
And under that thick fabric… was not a torture weapon or a terrible beast, but a castle tower that took up a lot of space. It had been built for cats to play with.
Joyce stared blankly, but Long Aotian was excited and boldly introduced, “How is it? Do you like it?”
Joyce turned her head and gave him a strange look.
She suddenly had an extremely absurd idea that maybe Long Aotian didn’t know who she was, and maybe he didn’t want to use her to blackmail Sean. Maybe he was just—
“Since the last time I saw you, I really wanted to have a cat. I didn’t meet any who I got along with though. That knight didn’t treat you well either. He threw you away, but now you can follow me forever!”
“…”
Joyce sighed. Sure enough, she should not have overestimated Long Aotian’s IQ. What villain accomplishments? What dreams of saving the primogeniture? What kidnapping and blackmail?
Long Aotian just simply… wanted to have a cat!
Joyce didn’t even bother to struggle anymore. She couldn’t avoid smelling the blood on Long Aotian’s hands and on her paws. She listened to him fantasize about what he would do if he had a cat.
Joyce suddenly felt very tired.
How could she be kidnapped by such a stupid subordinate? And when would Sean’s magic lose its effect? And she’s so hungry, she missed Sean’s… blood.
Right when she leaned over his hand like she had nothing left to live for and didn’t want to pay any attention to what he was saying… Long Aotian looked at her soft but bloodstained paws and decided cautiously—
“Okay, kitty, I’ll take you for a bath first.”
?!
Joyce stiffened. Then, she struggled to get out, wanting to slip away from Long Aotian. But how could Long Aotian give her the chance? He held the weak kitten as he walked towards the bathtub.
What bath?!
I don’t want to take a bath!!
“I know cats don’t like bathing.” Long Aotian tightened his grip to hold the struggling kitten and calmly stated, “But you must take a bath.”
What fucking bath! Even if I take a bath, I don’t want you to help me take a bath! Joyce struggled so desperately that she even tried to curse at this fool.
Did Sean find out that I’m missing yet?! If he didn’t make me like this… I don’t want this pervert helping me take a bath! Aaaahhhh!!
Just as Joyce was struggling and howling curses on Sean from the bottom of her heart over and over again, the door of the room was suddenly slammed open—
The face she had been thinking about for a long time finally appeared at the door.
“Sean?!”
Long Aotian never expected Sean to come this soon. He panicked and tried to hide the kitten behind him. However, the kitten bit his finger. She jumped down and rushed into Sean’s arms while he was in pain.
Sean bent down and picked up the kitten. His tense expression eased somewhat. But when he saw the blood on the paws of the kitten in his arms, his gaze fixated on Long Aotian again.
The kitten reached out with its soft little paws and silently stroked his finger right before he went on a rampage. It was like she was telling him not to worry. Sean looked away, turned, and walked out of the door.
“Wait a minute!” Long Aotian quickly tried to stop him.
Sean didn’t stop because of him, but he stopped outside the door.
“If you want to borrow a cat, you don’t have to go to so much trouble.”
Long Aotian was shocked at those words. “You mean you are willing to…”
Sean coldly interrupted him. “Personal things will not be lent out.”
Saying so, he ignored Long Aotian’s gawking face and left.
……
Having had a busy day, Joyce had used up a lot of her energy. She looked at Sean as he quickly walked through the shadows of the swaying trees outside the window of the castle hallway. Then, she looked back at his fingers that were stroking her.
While he was deep in thought, the little kitty nestled in his arms, bared her fangs, and bit his fingertip.
With the tickling pain, Sean returned from his musings. He looked down at his arms. The kitten who pierced his finger was greedily sucking the blood.
Joyce hung her head down guiltily as if she had noticed that he was looking at her. She held onto his finger as if she was afraid that her food would be taken away.
Sean stopped walking.
After the kitten realized that he did not take his finger away, she grabbed it and happily ate.
He didn’t stop her from eating his blood like this, however, the sucking softened some part of his heart, and a layer of fog laced his eyes.
I lost something and got it back.
The feeling was very subtle.
He leaned down gently, and before he realized it, he had kissed the soft, furry head that was busy nibbling.
But at that moment, the kitten turned into a maiden again with a zap. Her face was a picture of confusion, and he had no time to take back the kiss on her forehead.
The author has something to say:
In Long Aotian’s dream:
Long Aotian: I want to have a cat.
