Survival Records of 3650 days in the Otherworld - Chapter 368
Chapter 368: Alien Invasion (4)
The man burst into the room in a hurry. The young officer slowed down his breath and shouted at Hallis.
“It’s been breached!”
“Dammit!”
Hallis frowned as he spat out his cigarettes.
“And our soldiers?”
“They are retreating. We have 300 men dead.”
“What! 300? That many? What about potions?!” Hallis shouted in shock. His lieutenant Baren also frowned. The empire had supplied its soldiers with an abundant number of potions.
“They used too powerful attacks and many died before we even got to use potions.”
“What?!”
Baren continued his report.
“Enemies are bringing in more powerful weapons. The powerful strike coming from their giant monster is especially dangerous. Our bunkers and walls can’t even stand against it.”
“Dammit.”
Hallis moaned. He had been hearing these reports again and again. It was at least fortunate that these strong attacks weren’t all that common.
‘Magic…?’
These attacks being made from alien species were very similar to what could only be described as magic. Light arrows flew in, and balls of fire were thrown. And these transparent barriers were also very much like magic. All this magic was thrown from their spears and shields.
“They’re here.”
Baren frowned as they heard a siren coming from outside. Hallis then took up his own firearm and stood up.
“Let’s go and give them hell.”
“Yes, sir.”
Hallis and Baren left the room and soldiers stood outside quickly followed behind them.
“Report!”
“All retreated soldiers are prepped and ready to fight, sir!”
“Enemy line has advanced 5 miles!”
Hallis then glanced over the horizon and saw the land being filled with enemies. It was easily over tens of thousands. They were powerful foes, but they lacked modern warfare experiencce. Their formations mirrored that of medieval times.
“Look at them. They think they won the entire battle because they won the last one.”
“Good for us, sir.”
“They’re wide open for our attack.”
“Yeah.”
“Let’s give them hell, sir.”
Cannons and explosives were fired from all sides at enemy lines. The war began again and soldiers fought a fierce battle.
“Sir, we have over 50 dead already.”
“Reinforcements?”
“We have enough.”
“Good. We can’t mourn the dead yet. This is war. We can’t let them have this place. You know that, right?” Hallis spoke to Baren.
“Yes, sir.”
“We have to hold out until reinforcements arrive. We’d rather die than give this place to them.”
Halis spoke grimly. This area was cold Buroin Fjord. If this place was breached, then it would lead the enemy directly to the most rich and developed port city of Veneth. The city had 10 million people living there. And the city was a trading hub for the entire Khalodian Empire.
“General! There’s a new report of enemy reinforcements coming over at the Gate!”
“Understood.”
Hallis nodded and the messenger returned to their post. Baren became worried.
“Can we protect this place?”
“We have to. We can’t lose this place.”
