Yan Fei was furious in his heart. This Sun Li was quite stubborn, still trying to stop him even at this moment. Since that was the case, he wouldn’t show any mercy. With a flick of his toes, he hit Sun Li right in the throat. Sun Li’s throat burst instantly, and after struggling on the ground for a bit, he finally died.
Yan Fei was about to go out to chase after Zhang Baocheng. After thinking for a moment, he took several barrels of gasoline out of his space, doused the entire courtyard with gasoline, then lit a fire, completely destroying all traces of the carnage he had caused. Also destroyed were the evidences that Zhang Baocheng and the Marquis had collected, which could have incriminated Yan Fei.
When Yan Fei walked out of the courtyard, it was already a sea of flames. On the distant highway, a car was racing for its life. He immediately recognized that it was Zhang Baocheng’s car, and Zhang Baocheng must be in it. He then took out his second-hand motorcycle from his space and quickly chased after it.
Even though Yan Fei was injured, his body was recovering rapidly, allowing his movements to be barely affected. Plus, with his experience in precisely controlling drones, he drove the motorcycle even faster than the car ahead.
However, since the car had already been on the road for a while, Yan Fei couldn’t catch up immediately. Fortunately, Zhang Baocheng did not head back towards the city area, otherwise Yan Fei would not dare to follow him. Judging by the direction Zhang Baocheng was going, he was heading for the port of Shanghai.
Zhang Baocheng was desperately speeding ahead, Yan Fei was chasing after him with all his might. Finally, upon reaching Shanghai Port, Yan Fei caught up with Zhang Baocheng’s car.
Yan Fei drove his motorcycle up close and indeed saw Zhang Baocheng in the driver’s seat. When Zhang Baocheng saw Yan Fei catching up, he was instantly scared out of his wits. Yan Fei kept pace with the car, then reached out, grabbed the handle of the car door next to the driver’s seat, and with a pull, he actually tore the door off.
As soon as the door was torn off, the car’s automatic protection system was activated, causing an emergency brake, and Zhang Baocheng’s car was forced to a stop. Yan Fei’s motorcycle slid to a stop in front of the car, and he looked at Zhang Baocheng coldly from atop his motorcycle.
Zhang Baocheng, recognizing the physique of the man in the mask, became more certain that this person was Yan Fei. At this moment, he began to regret his actions and wished he could start over. He would definitely not have targeted Yan Fei. Even for the greatest benefit, he would not provoke Yan Fei, for Yan Fei was truly terrifying. But there was no medicine for regret in this world, and Zhang Baocheng had lost his chance to start over.
Seeing that the car couldn’t start, Zhang Baocheng hurriedly jumped out and tried to run away. Yan Fei let out a cold laugh and chased after him, about to catch Zhang Baocheng. Suddenly, an abnormal current of air rippled nearby, and Yan Fei was startled, abandoning the chase and rolling away from his original position. Then he saw a cane knife suddenly chop down where he had just been—if he hadn’t dodged, he would surely have been injured by that knife.
Yan Fei stood firm and saw the cane knife eerily disappear, just as it had appeared out of nowhere. A wave of shock rose in his heart—what was this method of attack? Had he just seen a ghost? He heard that this place used to be a mass grave…
While Yan Fei was caught up in his thoughts, a slight disturbance in the air occurred behind him again. He quickly stepped aside and once more saw a cane knife appear from thin air, slashing down where he had just been. This time, Yan Fei observed carefully and finally noticed a hand at the end of the knife, wrapped in black cloth.
At this point, Yan Fei realized that this was not about seeing ghosts, but rather it was a bizarre form of attack. In his memory, this should be an attack method from the Japanese Ninja to the east. He had encountered a legendary Japanese Ninja. He just didn’t understand why the ninja was attacking him—could it be that he was also a helper hired by Zhang Baocheng?

Zhang Baocheng, seeing Yan Fei being attacked, instantly bolted. By the time Yan Fei turned to check, Zhang Baocheng had already reached the port and boarded a small yacht. As soon as Zhang Baocheng was on board, the yacht began to accelerate away from the port, disappearing into the darkness.
Yan Fei, restrained by the Japanese Ninja, could not pursue Zhang Baocheng’s small yacht. Although he should have been very anxious, oddly, a mysterious smile suddenly appeared on the corner of his mouth. He could sense that his Drone Avatar was about to return to Shanghai, and it was only a five-minute distance from this port. Under the sweep of the Quantum Radar with a range of 500 kilometers, Zhang Baocheng’s yacht was distinctly visible. Once Zhang Baocheng reached the sea, he would probably die even faster than on land.
Yan Fei’s twin discoveries of the ninja hidden in the darkness made the assailant hesitant to emerge rashly, and the two entered a standoff. It was then that a voice suddenly came through, “Useless thing, wait until you get back to be punished!”
Yan Fei was startled and realized the words were spoken in Japanese. Because the Auxiliary Brain had directly infused him with knowledge from the Technology Tree, he quickly became proficient in English, Japanese, and Italian, so he understood right away what the person was saying.
Yan Fei looked up only to see a man in black seated on top of a shipping container, unknown when he had sat there. The man in black was wearing a black cloak and holding a samurai cane knife, looking down at Yan Fei with disdain.

Hearing the rebuke, a petite figure eerily appeared out of thin air not far in front of Yan Fei. This figure was dressed in black, with a hood covering the head, revealing only a pair of eyes, and carrying a cane knife sheath on the back—the typical attire of a Japanese ninja.
The ninja on the ground was obviously the object of the man in the cloak’s scolding on top of the shipping container. Bowing to the cloaked figure, the ninja admitted his fault and charged toward Yan Fei once more. In the process, he somehow vanished into thin air.
A cold smile appeared on Yan Fei’s lips. Previously, he had been ambushed by the ninja twice when he wasn’t paying attention. But now that he knew the opponent was a ninja, he let down his guard because he had a way to counter the ninja’s stealth technique.
That method was the drone’s quantum radar. Quantum radar could even detect stealth fighters, let alone the ninja’s hiding techniques. With a range of 500 kilometers and the capacity to simultaneously track 1000 targets, the drone, being less than one hundred kilometers from Yan Fei, could easily monitor both Zhang Baocheng’s yacht and the ninja. Although this would cause the drone to use up more energy points, at this critical moment, the energy points had to be spent.
The ninja merely utilized the environment and the visual blind spots of the human eye to become “invisible.” While this might be somewhat effective against the average person, for the quantum radar, it was as conspicuous as a kilowatt lightbulb flickering in front. After all, he wasn’t truly invisible.
With the aid of the quantum radar, Yan Fei could clearly see the ninja’s figure, but he pretended he hadn’t noticed and acted as if he was searching the surroundings. The man in the black cloak on the shipping container simply watched with detached interest, not intervening in the battle below.
The Japanese ninja carefully lurked behind Yan Fei, then swung his sword. Yan Fei suddenly reached back with one hand and incredibly plucked a person from the void—it was the ninja. Now being choked by Yan Fei, the ninja struggled desperately. With a shake of his hand, Yan Fei caused the ninja’s sword to drop to the ground. A squeeze crushed the ninja’s throat, and with a hurl, Yan Fei threw the ninja more than ten meters away. The ninja rolled on the ground a few times, twitched, and then lay dead.
Yan Fei easily thwarted the Japanese ninja’s ambush and killed him using quantum radar, to the great surprise of the cloaked man on the shipping container. The man stood up and, clapping his hands, spoke in Japanese, “Not bad, not bad. China is truly a land of hidden dragons and crouching tigers. To think that you could so easily break our ninja’s ninjutsu.”
Yan Fei began to stall for time, speaking in Mandarin, “Who are you? Why did you ambush me?”
The man in the black cloak was fluent in Mandarin and also spoke, “You may call me Jūbei Yamamoto. I am from the Yamamoto Family of Japan, here on a trial mission with the younger members of our family, and it seems we have failed. As to why we attacked you, we were acting on orders from our family to assist that Chinese man named Zhang in escaping. Since you wanted to kill him, we had no choice but to eliminate you.”
Yan Fei, who was just trying to buy time, didn’t expect Jūbei Yamamoto to reveal so much inside information. Could it be he thought Yan Fei was already a dead man, and thus he could safely reveal secrets without them getting out? He laughed, “Sorry, but I killed a member of your family. Do you want to avenge him?”
Jūbei Yamamoto said, “His lack of skill led to his death; he has only himself to blame. However, by killing a member of the Yamamoto Family, you have insulted our family’s honor. So now I must kill you. Remember, this is not about revenge, but about preserving our family dignity and showing the world that the Yamamoto Family’s reputation is not unearned.”
Yan Fei laughed heartily, “You Japanese are really hypocritical. If you want revenge, just say so. You don’t have to make it sound so noble.”
Jūbei Yamamoto said no more. He slowly drew the long knife from his bosom, saying, “This knife is called ‘Hidden Chrysanthemum.’ It will be an honorable death to fall by its blade.”
Yan Fei scoffed, “A mere unknown and broken blade; you speak as if it were famous. Here I am, come and try if you can kill me!”
With a strange cry, Jūbei Yamamoto suddenly jumped down from the shipping container and landed firmly on the ground, darting toward Yan Fei at an astonishing speed with his cane knife chopping down fiercely. Yan Fei was startled; he couldn’t keep up with Jūbei Yamamoto’s pace and, having no weapon to block with, only had time to roll awkwardly on the ground to narrowly evade the slash.
Jūbei Yamamoto’s strike was dodged by Yan Fei but managed to carve a gash into the hard concrete, displaying frightening strength.
Just as Jūbei Yamamoto was about to continue his assault, a massive monster suddenly emerged from the dark sea surface far away. This monster had been skimming the sea before swiftly ascending near the shore, rising to a height of two hundred meters. The beast then dove down towards Jūbei Yamamoto, its head lighting up, and a burst of flame shot forth.
