“I do.” Lin Shen was still unable to lie.
Tian Xun looked at Lin Shen, her heart already convinced that there was indeed no mantra for the Twenty-Eight Fists.
Yet she still found it hard to accept that Lin Shen could easily master the Twenty-Eight Fists, which she could not.
“Demonstrate the Twenty-Eight Fists again,” Tian Xun said, diverting the topic from her previous question.
Lin Shen began to demonstrate the Twenty-Eight Fists, but after showing twenty or so movements, he could not continue and had to refer back to the manual again.
Tian Xun’s expression turned quite peculiar, now she could be certain that Lin Shen had never lied, but with such memory, how had he managed to master the Twenty-Eight Fists? It defied logic.
Following the manual, Lin Shen mimicked it once more, the Twenty-Eight Fists just like before, and in the end he unleashed the Spatial Fist Power again, this time even stronger than the last.
“What do you feel when you use the Twenty-Eight Fists?” Tian Xun refused to believe she could not master the Twenty-Eight Fists, thinking there must be a problem somewhere.
Lin Shen described in detail his experience of practicing the Twenty-Eight Fists.
After listening, Tian Xun had a thought, and the devout Seraph ceased using her skill, dissolving into countless particles and returning to her body.
“Catherine wants you dead, but I’m determined to keep you alive. You can stay on Paradise Island. If I have any questions, I’ll come find you. Now leave,” Tian Xun said, and a Celestial Maid entered to guide Lin Shen out of the grand hall toward the guest room where Lin Miao stayed.
“I refuse to believe that a human Mutator like him can master the Twenty-Eight Fists and I, Tian Xun, cannot.” Tian Xun could not accept this outcome. She picked up the drawings Lin Shen made, compared them with the patterns in her memory, and attempted the Twenty-Eight Fists again.
The result was even less acceptable to Tian Xun; no matter how many times she practiced, there was no response at all.

“Where did it go wrong?” Tian Xun pondered painfully, yet could not come up with where the problem lay.
Upon entering the guest room, Lin Shen saw his elder sister. Without waiting for her to ask any questions, he swept the room to ensure there was no monitoring equipment.
To be extra cautious, Lin Shen still lowered his voice, speaking softly enough that only the two of them could hear, and detailed the entire situation from beginning to end.
“Big sis, do you think we can stay on Giant Ring Star?” Lin Shen asked his elder sister.
“Whether we can stay or not, we have to remain here; we have no other choice,” his elder sister reflected for a moment before adding, “Tian Xun didn’t harm you just now, nor did she take the Six Paths Phoenix. She shouldn’t have the intent to kill us for the moment, but if she masters the Twenty-Eight Fists, that might change.”
After some thought, she continued, “But if she can’t master the Twenty-Eight Fists, then your chance will come.”
“What chance?” Lin Shen was slightly taken aback.
“Do you trust me?” his elder sister seemed somewhat excited, locking eyes with Lin Shen as she asked.
“You’re my actual sister, who else can I trust if not you?” Lin Shen found her question rather superfluous.
“A woman knows a woman best. I think Tian Xun has some feelings for you. Securing her could not only save our lives but also expand the Lin Family. It’s killing two birds with one stone,” his elder sister explained.
“Big sis, what kind of joke is that at a time like this?” Lin Shen couldn’t help but laugh and cry at the same time.
“It’s not a joke. Have you forgotten what happened with Wan Nianbei?” his elder sister said earnestly.
“Although I don’t mind being a kept man, and I’m open to marrying into Other Races, I’m not Wan Nianbei; I don’t have the capital to be a kept man,” Lin Shen felt his sister’s idea was not at all reliable.
Wan Nianbei was the man who had perfected the Six Paths Phoenix, and the one thing the Princess of Di Man coveted was that very Six Paths Phoenix. Lin Shen didn’t possess it, so what made him think he could win over Tian Xun?
“How can you say you don’t have the capital? You’ve mastered the Twenty-Eight Fists, which she couldn’t. Isn’t that capital? Women understand women best—trust me, you definitely have a chance,” the eldest sister said with certainty.
However, Lin Shen still found it unreliable. The Six Paths Phoenix was heritable, while the Twenty-Eight Fists were merely a skill that couldn’t be passed down genetically; there was simply no need for intermarriage.
Of course, though Lin Shen said he didn’t mind, deep down he still felt a slight inability to accept marrying someone from another race. He still preferred human women.
The eldest sister wanted to say more, but suddenly there were footsteps outside, followed by a knock at the door.
“Who is it?” The two exchanged glances, and Lin Miao asked.
“It’s about to get dark. Guests, please return to your rooms and do not leave before daylight,” the voice outside, somewhat familiar, was that of the Celestial Maid who had guided Lin Shen here.
“Sister, let’s take it one step at a time,” Lin Shen said as he stepped out of the room and returned to the one next door, his own room.
If Tian Xun were to harm them, siblings, there was no defense that would suffice, so Lin Shen no longer stayed beside his sister.
Back in his room, Lin Shen lay on the bed, and soon the world outside the window darkened abruptly.
There was a light in the room, but it too seemed to have gone out, leaving him unable to see his own hands in the pitch darkness.
“This place shouldn’t be short of electricity, so why did the power go off as soon as it got dark?” Lin Shen tried the light switch a few times, but it was still pitch black and he couldn’t see a thing.
Lin Shen had a thought and took out a flashlight to try it, only to find that it did not work either.
“So it seems it’s not the absence of electricity, but rather that once it gets dark, the lights also lose their function,” Lin Shen suddenly remembered something.
If even the lights were useless, then where had the light in the stone house he used to live in come from?
“How strange, what’s the deal with that woman?” Lin Shen couldn’t figure it out, nor had he the energy to ponder it further.
Lin Shen had to prepare for the worst. If Tian Xun suddenly decided to kill them one day, he needed to know how to survive.
The method the elder sister suggested, Lin Shen thought it was utterly unreliable.
The best way was to leave Giant Ring Star immediately, but Tian Xun probably wouldn’t let them go. Forcing their way out would only provoke Tian Xun’s murderous intent.
Luckily, they both had teleporter devices on their watches, which could teleport them away from Giant Ring Star at any moment—this was their greatest assurance.
But the main body of the teleporter was controlled by the hands of the Celestial Race, so they’d need to devise a way to escape the Celestial Race’s sphere of influence after being teleported.
Luckily, this was all feasible. They could choose a time unknown to Tian Xun for teleporting, such as during a night like this.
Teleporting now, and by the time daylight came and Tian Xun found them gone, they’d have several dozen hours head start. If used well, they might even be able to escape the Celestial Race’s sphere of influence.
Of course, unless it was absolutely necessary, Lin Shen did not want to take this route.
Making enemies with both the Celestials and Di Man would make life difficult later on, and it wasn’t certain that they could escape the Celestial Race’s influence in such a short time.
“Even if we have to leave, we need to plan our escape route thoroughly,” Lin Shen thought. The elder sister wasn’t wrong about one thing—Tian Xun probably didn’t have the intention to kill them yet.
