Rest In A Demon’s Embrace - 223 United Gu Family
“Everyone, gather up.” Gu Xingyu’s voice was clear and loud as it cut through the idle chatter that was buzzing in the air. As soon as his voice was heard, the surroundings quickly descended into silence, and everyone focused their attention on their patriarch, waiting for him to announce the future plans.
“The Eight Elder and myself will be in charge of escorting the group of talents to the Secret Realm. Both of us will be waiting at the entrance to the Secret Realm while our descendants are inside, trying their best to gain a fortunate encounter.
“If anything should happen to the family while I am away, the Council of Elders will have to negotiate it among themselves. If there is something that cannot be determined on the Council of Elders, then send someone to inform me, and I will make a decision.”
“The time within the Secret Realm is going much faster than in the outside world, and from our perspective, you will only be inside for a week and a half, however, for those of you who enter, you will experience three years of grueling tasks.
“The Secret Realm only opens twice; first time when you enter, and second time when you leave.
“The Secret Realm will let you enter in a larger group, and you will also stay together after the spatial teleportation into the domain. I hope that you can all remember your identities as descendants of the Gu family, and put aside any disagreements you might have. Upon entering, you will have to support one another, and not leave anyone behind.
“Although we all condemn murder, there is no way for us to know what is happening within the Secret Realm, and thus many might take the chance to attack their enemies or even eradicate the younger generation of a family that is getting stronger and stronger. This is also the reason for you to fight together and face the dangers as a group.

Gu Xingyu was explaining everything that they needed to know, and tried to be as clear as possible. He knew that the secret realm was a special chance, and many would never get the chance to experience it, however he hoped that his descendants would have a great result after trying it out.
In the middle of the crowd was a group of young people that were standing straight as swords, and their eyes were filled with fervor and excitement.
Although they were aware of the risks involved in entering the Secret Realm, none of them were willing to back down, and the Gu family was still a decent family that was willing to support one another, so no one feared that they would betray one another inside the realm, and thus they should be able to, at least, ensure the majority of their lives.
However, while the young experts were completely calm, the parents were feeling complicated emotions. Some of them had been in the Secret Realm before and knew of the perils they were about to face.
However, although they knew about the dangers, all they could do was warn their children and hope that they would stay strong. They were unable to pour out their excitement, and thus they were very worried.
Even so, many still made sure to warn their children over and over again, that the Secret Realm was not all that simple, and that they had to be careful. To them, the most important thing was not to become the strongest, but to just return alive.
However, they also knew that it was not possible for their children to be protected at all times. These children were growing up, and they were at an age where they needed to stand tall on their own feet and face the world with an open mind.
Standing by the side, Luo Xiao was observing everything little by little and a smile flitted across his lips, with a gleam shining in his eyes.
He had been quite satisfied with the Gu family so far, but after seeing the cohesive behavior of them all, and how they could band together when facing difficulties, he could understand why Jiang Yao had picked them.
Ye Chao and Ye Feng were both standing by Luo Xiao’s side. Neither of them spoke, as they both knew their young master well enough to know that he was aware of the current situation. Although he was eager to enter the Secret Realm, he also knew the dangers involved, and it was not their position to persuade otherwise.
Huo Yu was not present either, he had been given a specific task by Luo Xiao, and today was his first time on his own, without one of the two guards following by his side. Luo Xiao was excited to see how this young man would have fared when he returned back from the Secret Realm.
Everyone had already packed their items; one after another they were slowly making their way towards the Eight Elder that was waiting for them with a group of domesticated white egrets.
These egrets were not overly powerful in combat, nor were they the swiftest methods of transportation, but they were safe and able to carry three people at once, making it easier for them to reach the entrance of the Secret Realm. Only the more prosperous families had enough of these White Egrets to let their descendants ride them like this.
