Rebirth to the Eighties to Get Rich - Chapter 128: Oranges and Mangos
Chapter 128: Oranges and Mangos
Su Jindang was really relieved that Mother Su came to help.
The couple had been thinking about whether they should hire a short-time worker for the next few days. They were usually busy during normal times, but at the end of this year, business was really good and even busier.
But it would be fine now since Mother Su came to help.
Su Danhong also heard about her mother’s helping her second brother in the past. She smiled and said to Ji Jianyun, “My mother is betting everything on my second brother now.”
“Your mother didn’t make the wrong bet,” Ji Jianyun said with a smile.
This second brother-in-law’s character was unquestionable. He was also very filial. If his mother-in-law was willing to follow him, her life would certainly be good.
Additionally, the town had developed rapidly in the past two or three years, and there were more people. Since the shop had been bought, it must be well managed. Many people had started businesses, and whether they could stand out from them depended on their skills. Therefore, Mother Su’s willingness to help was also good.
During the morning of the next day, Ji Jianyun drove to the morning market in the county city. When he came back, he called out to Su Danhong, “Honey, look what I brought back for you.”
“What do you have?” Su Danhong heard his happy voice and smiled. She pushed Renren out. She tried to keep him inside, but he refused.
Ji Jianyun got out of the car and said, “I saw a lot of mangos and oranges. They were all transported from the south. I tasted them and they were sweet. I bought some for you.”
There were two boxes of oranges. One glance at the orange skin, and he knew it would be delicious.
He also bought a box of mango. They were small, but Su Danhong felt her mouth watering when she looked at it.
“Food, food.” Xiao Renren also saw it. His dark eyes stared at the food.
“Little greedy cat.” Su Danhong smiled and took two oranges. Then she pushed him into the kitchen and cut them. (っ◔◡◔)っ ♥ ℝ𝕖𝕒𝕕 𝕗𝕠𝕣 𝕗𝕣𝕖𝕖 𝕠𝕟 𝕗𝕠𝕩𝕒𝕙𝕠𝕝𝕚𝕔.𝕔𝕠𝕞 ♥
She gave the boy some of it. He frowned, but his mouth was still chewing on it.
Ji Jianyun came in and said with a grin, “How does it taste? I tasted it there and it was sweet.”
“It’s sweet,” Su Danhong nodded and said. The orange was delicious and she liked it a lot.
Xiao Renren frowned and ate some of the oranges his mother gave him. He fell in love with them and opened his mouth and waited for her to feed him.
Su Danhong stuffed another piece to him. The more he ate, the more he liked it. He opened his hand and wanted another one.
Su Danhong smiled and asked Ji Jianyun to take a bib and tie it up for him. Then she gave him another piece.
When he got the food, Xiao Renren was very satisfied. He grabbed the orange piece and began to nibble on it. He ate with satisfaction.
Su Danhong also ate the oranges. She split a piece for her son and ate the rest.
“These oranges are good. You should send them to your parents later,” Su Danhong said.
There were all kinds of things on the mountain. They had knives and cutting boards there because it was convenient for Father Ji and Mother Ji to make some snacks there when they were hungry.
They could cut it themselves and eat.
Ji Jianyun nodded. “I didn’t know you would like it this much. I heard them say that they will come again next year. I will buy more then.”
“I don’t need that much. These are enough.” Su Danhong smiled.
Ji Jianyun said, “I heard them say that it is good to eat more oranges when you are pregnant.”
When Su Danhong heard this, she didn’t mind. It’s better to buy more. Anyway, it won’t cost much.
Ji Jianyun packed some oranges and mangos and went up the mountain. Father Ji didn’t say anything, but Mother Ji said to him, “Why did you bring these? Save them for Danhong.”
The climate here was not good for tropical fruits. During the winter, there were usually no fruits to eat, but they had nuts. Things like oranges and mangos were generally transported from the south and it was not cheap.
“There’s more at home,” Ji Jianyun said. “You can eat these.”
Then he went to see the sheeps and chickens.
Mother Ji went to cut the oranges and came out to see that the old man had eaten a mango. It tasted sweet and he told her to taste it.
“I have eaten a mango once before,” Father Ji said.
“How does it taste?” Mother Ji smiled.
“Won’t you know by trying it?” Father Ji said, and took an orange and ate it.
The old man was very happy with the food. Whether it was a mango or orange, the taste was very good.
Mother Ji also smiled and ate some. When Ji Jianyun came over, she said, “When Su Jindang comes over, you can give some to him to take to his maternal family.”
“I’ll leave some for him,” Ji Jianyun said.
When he went down the mountain, he talked about this to Su Danhong. Su Danhong asked, “Do you want to take some over there to fourth brother-in-law and them?”
“Don’t worry. If they want to eat it they can buy it themselves,” Ji Jianyun said.
In the past, he would have brought some over, but now he didn’t want to.
If he gave some to Jianwen, what about his elder brother and second brother? So he didn’t give any and didn’t favor any families. That’s why it’s fair that no one except the elders received any.
As for the children, if they came, they would have something to eat. If they did not come, they would have nothing to eat.
Su Danhong nodded. In fact, she was just asking and didn’t intend to give any.
When Su Jindang came in the evening, Ji Jianyun brought him a bag of oranges and mangos and asked him to take them to Mother Su.
He said that it was for Mother Su, but in fact some were for Su Jindang since there were so many.
Su Jindang did not say anything about it, but accepted it with a smile.
Although mangos were delicious, Su Danhong preferred oranges. She ate three or four oranges a day, and there were many oranges in a box. But with how fast she ate them, it was gone in a few days.
So Ji Jianyun went to buy two more boxes. This time, he went to the college town to buy them. But he didn’t go there empty handed. He also transported some eggs, sheep and live chickens to sell. He also took Father Ji with him for this trip.
He wasn’t planning on going. Wasn’t it only because his wife wanted oranges? They were only available in the college town, but not in Jiangshui City.
As time went by, it was New Year’s Eve. It was the day of the annual reunion dinner.
Although there was an unpleasant fight a while ago, there was nothing that could not be overcome together as a family. On that day, everyone had a happy reunion dinner and began to eat fruit after dinner.
Well, in order to make Father Ji and Mother Ji happy, Su Danhong generously took out the mangos that she had not eaten yet. As for the oranges, she wasn’t willing to give them up. She wanted to keep them for herself to eat.
She didn’t know if she was imagining it, but she thought that after eating oranges, she felt that the little baby in her stomach was growing better.
Therefore, she wanted the oranges for herself. Renren also liked to eat them. The mother and son wanted to keep them for themselves to eat slowly.
Even if it were only mangos for dessert, everyone was all satisfied.
However, there was always someone asking for trouble. Ji Yunyun, who has been holding it in for several days, asked with a smile, “Third sister-in-law, why didn’t you bring some oranges? Oranges are so delicious. When I went to see my parents, I ate one on the mountain and I am still thinking about it.”
