“I can handle it alone,” Lu Hao replied, feeling that Lu Guanhai’s little flames were hardly worth mentioning.
“Ah, what do you mean by that, you brat? You looking down on your old man?” Lu Guanhai felt his pride was being challenged.
“Girl, why don’t you take out the Mysterious Fire Fan and give it to Old Lu to use?” Nie Qing suggested.
Right, the Mysterious Fire Fan had been sitting in the Space for quite some time. The Mysterious Fire Fan would reveal its power in the presence of fire, regardless of whether it was Lu Hao’s Mutant Fire or Lu Guanhai’s Special Ability Fire.
Su Jin pretended to reach into her backpack and took out the Mysterious Fire Fan, handing it over to Lu Guanhai.
Lu Guanhai had long heard Nie Qing boasting about the fan he had given to Lu Hao, and now he was excited to have the chance to use it himself.
By the time he got the fan, Lu Hao had already moved forward to join the fray.
“You three, step back!”
To avoid accidentally harming Liao Yifan and the other two, he asked them to move back, but just as the Mutated Cat was about to pounce, it felt a searing pain. Its left side had caught on fire, and the flames seemed to have a corrosive effect, causing it to yowl in agony. It tried to roll on the ground to extinguish the flames but to no avail.
“What are you waiting for? Fan the flames!” Nie Qing urged Lu Guanhai.
“Oh right, fan it, I’ll do it now,”
Hurriedly, Lu Guanhai ran forward and, with a single flick of the fan towards the Mutated Cat, something bizarre happened—the flames that had been only on its left side now engulfed its entire body!
Lu Guanhai was dumbfounded. What an incredible fan!

Meanwhile, the Mutated Cat continued to shriek in agony!
“Xue Wanyi, can you jump on top of it? Use this!” Su Jin tossed him a Ghost Hand Knife.
Xue Wanyi nodded in understanding. He had learned a few tricks from Nie Qing. Concentrating his Special Ability under his feet, he propelled himself towards the Mutated Cat!
The Cat was in too much pain to see the danger coming its way. Xue Wanyi had already leaped on top of it, stabbing down at its neck with the Ghost Hand Knife!
With a “thwack,” the sound of knife piercing flesh, the Mutated Cat collapsed to the ground!
Did it work?!
Xue Wanyi was overjoyed and wanted to take a closer look.
“Uncle Xue, it’s not dead yet!”
Mao Qiqi suddenly screamed—the orange dot hadn’t disappeared, meaning it wasn’t completely dead yet!
Hearing Mao Qiqi’s shout, Xue Wanyi was still processing when a vine pulled him back; he almost got bitten by the retaliating Mutated Cat!
Seeing its lunge miss, the Mutated Cat seemed ready to use its last bit of strength to pounce at everybody!
“Su Jin, I’m up!” Lin Xiuyuan could no longer contain himself. Fighting monsters, he wanted to fight monsters!
Su Jin nodded. Lin Xiuyuan’s Special Ability was of the explosive type and required someone to cover for him. Thinking this, Su Jin quickly ran towards the Mutated Cat. Her Wood Element Ability was immensely versatile; she created a large green net with vines and threw it over the Mutated Cat’s head!
“Meow~” the Mutated Cat thrashed its head, trying to get rid of the annoying net.
Now was the moment! Lin Xiuyuan rushed forward, freezing the creature’s limbs to the ground. In his hand, a slender Ice Spike formed, aiming for the Mutated Cat’s eyes!
The cat’s pitiful cries came to an abrupt end as its body heavily fell.
“Qiqi, how about now?” Su Jin asked.
“Gone, it’s dead!”
Qiqi jumped up in joy; the orange dot had finally vanished!
Inside, Old Man Wu and the young boy were amazed as they watched the scene unfold. So powerful! Each and every one of them was so powerful! They had actually killed the beast!
The young boy felt as if a fierce fire had ignited in his heart, watching those people. If he was just as powerful, perhaps his parents wouldn’t have died so tragically.
“Pfft, it wasn’t that hard,” Lin Xiuyuan chuckled as he looked at the corpse on the ground. It was a bit tiring though. Why did his Special Ability deplete so fast? He’d probably have to endure his mother’s scorn again later.
“Xiao Jin, I’ll check if it has a Beast Core,” Lin Cheng said, picking up a Watermelon Knife and walking towards the corpse.
The Mutated Cat had a huge head. After searching for a while, Lin Cheng finally found a Beast Core inside its skull, even larger than the one Xiao Jin had brought previously!
Huang Yunxiang was also delighted, quickly washed the Beast Core, and handed it to Su Jin.
“You guys find these things useful?” Guo Yang asked as he watched the joyful family.
“Useful, for selling,” Lu Hao came over to answer, easing Su Jin’s mind as she wasn’t sure how to explain the use of the Beast Core.
“Hmm, makes sense. Looks pretty nice too,” Guo Yang commented.
…
At that moment, the village Survivors emerged. Seeing the Mutated Cat on the ground, some couldn’t help but start crying. The creature had devoured many of their villagers, likely including some of their family, Su Jin thought.
“Thank you for helping us kill this monster,” the villagers sincerely thanked them.
“Don’t mention it. We just needed to pass this road and didn’t want to be ambushed by it,” Su Xiangzhe said, somewhat embarrassed.
“Pretty sister, may I ask where you are heading?” The young boy also ran out with his grandfather, eager to know where these powerful individuals were going.
“To S City,” Su Jin replied, unsure of why the boy was asking.
“I see. Sister, my name is Wu Yida.”
…
Years later, Su Jin casually looked through the list of new recruits for the team.
A familiar name caught her eye: Wu Yida.
Su Jin smiled. So that was the reason he asked back then…
