Chapter 269: Distere's Execution Ground
As Allen has expected, the medieval era was very barbaric when it came to their methods. But it was not like he wanted to start the modern era in this world since that wasn’t his Main Task.
Of course, he was well aware that the possibility of starting the modern era in a medieval-era world being a Hidden Task was high but he was lazy to complete such a hidden task.
“Thanks for answering my questions, Alisceon.”
Allen thanked Alisceon as he patted her head.
Alisceon smiled after receiving her brother’s gratitude. But after thinking about her brother’s motives for asking such a question, she decided to inquire about his motives for asking that question.
“Brother, what are you going to do? Are you going to leave me?”
Listening to Alisceon’s question, Allen released his hand from her head and decided to answer Alisceon’s question truthfully. After all, there was no point in lying to her since he wouldn’t gain anything from doing that.
“Am I going to leave you? Yes, but temporarily. You are already an adult so you can take care of yourself even if I am going to leave you, especially after I have taught you about mana manipulation. So you can defend yourself whenever you are in danger even without my help.”
Hearing her brother’s reply, Alisceon was glad that he was going to leave her only temporarily. But after hearing that there would be a time that he would leave her permanently, she could only silently accept it as she was also aware that she couldn’t keep her brother from accompanying her throughout her entire life.
Of course, unless she married her brother since they weren’t blood-related but Alisceon knew that was almost impossible to happen. Not only did her brother didn’t look at her as a partner but just his little sister, but she also noticed that her brother already have a lover and she was none other than the twin-tailed maid that followed her brother.
Since she couldn’t keep her brother by her side in her lifetime, she could only reluctantly accept the fact that he would leave her in the future.
Seeing that Alisceon didn’t disagree with him leaving her in the future, Allen decided to answer her first question which was his purpose for inquiring information about Distere’s identity and background.
“As for what I am going to do, I will meet up with Distere Faith. That was supposed to be the plan for my group but unexpected trouble hindered us from doing that.”
“I just received a message from my teammates that Distere Faith is going to be executed at least several minutes from now. That’s why I have to leave your side temporarily but during the time I will leave you, don’t slack off in your magic training, got it?”
“Or else, no more headpats.”
Hearing Allen’s explanation, Alisceon agreed but after hearing his threat, she could only nod at him fervently since she didn’t want her brother to stop patting her head. His headpats made her feel the love and warmth that she didn’t have after her mother’s death so she didn’t want such a sensation to stop.
“Okay, I will now leave. Don’t forget to continue your magic training. Iris will take care of you and keep you safe in my stead.”
When Allen parted those words, Iris appeared at his side while agreeing with him on taking care of Alisceon.
Seeing that both Alisceon and Iris didn’t disagree with his arrangements, Allen used his teleportation magic to teleport himself towards John’s location using the coordinates that John had given him before.
In a flash, Allen disappeared from his current location which prompted Alisceon to continue her magic training while Iris was protecting her in case of an enemy attack.

Appearing in a deserted alley, Allen saw John and Deus staying in there, waiting for his arrival. His sudden arrival didn’t startle them since it was within their expectations.
“It’s good that you have arrived. I can’t afford to use my authority to deal with those Heretic Gods if they decided to intervene since the effects of my authority only lasted for a few hours at most. It’s best for me to use it to deal with those stronger Heretic Gods rather than wasting it on those weaker ones.”
John stated as he was glad that Allen arrived on time. After all, John had the highest combat power within their group but at the cost of using it for a short amount of time.
And since Deus wasn’t that strong, Deus and John might be defeated by those 6th Circle Mages and 6th Star Knights if they were assaulted by them. He couldn’t use his authority on those cannon fodders and even those weaker Heretic Gods.
After all, John’s strongest authority that would allow him to possess the power level of a Perfection Realm Peak Stage Semi-Supreme Being had a longer cooldown than Allen’s <[Absolute Order]> authority so it was more cost-effective for him to use it against those stronger Heretic Gods than waste it on the weaker Heretic Gods and the cannon fodder knights and mages.
Allen was aware of that and that was why he didn’t delay his arrival. And that was why he told John to only intervene without his presence if ever the execution of Distere started without him arriving on time.
After all, compared to John’s authority cooldown, Distere’s life was much more valuable and that was why he didn’t hesitate to allow John’s usage of his authority in exchange for Distere’s safety. But since Allen arrived on time, John didn’t need to resort to using his authority.
With that in mind, the three of them went out of the deserted alley as John and Deus led Allen to the location where Distere was going to be executed.
After a minute’s worth of walking, the three of them arrived at their destination.
Allen witnessed Distere in a pitiful state as his body was tied to a stake with firewood placed around the bottom of his feet.
