Chapter 233: Chaos Won't Participate In The Main Task
[I Love Mathematics: I also could care less about the rewards of the Main Task. I no longer have the drive to become stronger. I have lost almost everything except for my life after I had killed my little sister. So I no longer have the reason to become stronger. I am just spending the rest of my infinite lifespan to repent for my sins.]
[I Love Mathematics: You don’t have to worry about me hoarding all of the Main Tasks since becoming stronger no longer interests me.]
Hugo felt that killing himself would be an insult to his little sister so he let himself live just to repent for what he had done. Hugo was too hard on himself.
[Self-Proclaimed Genius Goblin Hero: That’s… dark.]
Axel couldn’t help but comment. It seemed that not only he but most of them in the chat group had dark pasts. After all, they were all protagonists. It was unlikely for a protagonist to have a happy life since they are the embodiment of attracting trouble.
And from what they have read from the task description, it was likely that Distere didn’t have a good life as well or else they wouldn’t be having any Main Task about him. They all understood that the main purpose of the Alternate Multiverse Chat Group was for all of them to help each other and they wouldn’t be able to help each other if none of them have a problem.
So all of the chat group members had already guessed that Distere must have encountered a problem in the future or he might have already encountered it. And the purpose of the Main Task was to lessen the problems of every chat group member by each chat group member helping each other.
With that in mind, all of them started to decide which members were below Perfection Realm Initial Stage to take part in the Second Main Task. And, only four of those that aren’t Semi-Supreme Beings could participate in the Main Task.
All of them already expected that Allen and his lover would take the two spots for the Main Task so, with that in mind, the rest of them competing for the two spots that remained.
Well, there weren’t that many chat group members in the first place so it wouldn’t be too chaotic in deciding on who would participate in the Second Main Task.
The chat group members that were below Perfection Realm Initial Stage were Allen, Iris, Chaos, Deus, Axel, and John.
They all knew that Chaos was unlikely to participate in the Main Task since he was currently busy merging all of his fragment counterparts into himself to strengthen his foundation and improve his strength. Because of that, it was unlikely for Chaos to participate in the Main Task.
Whether it was unlikely for him to participate or not, it was best for them to ask Chaos himself and not jump to conclusions.
[Time Manipulator Of The Apocalypse: @Chaos, will you participate in the Main Task or not?]
And that was what John had done. He asked Chaos whether he would join or not since it would be best for them to know about his decision. After all, doing so would prevent a hostile confrontation with Chaos.
Even if what he had done would likely have another competitor for the remaining two spots, John did that since he preferred to take a spot in the Main Task in a fair way.
After all, there was a chance that Chaos didn’t know that there was a Main Task despite the system announcement. So what John did by asking Chaos about his participation in the Main task was alert Chaos that there was the Main Task.
[Sword Forge From Chaos: I won’t participate in the Main Task. And it’s not because I am currently in seclusion due to merging myself with my fragment counterparts.]
[Sword Forge From Chaos: It is because I have to encounter Heretic Gods since it is required in one of the sub-tasks to slay them. They will likely know of my race which is the Ancient Sword Race. And since I am quite weak, the possibility of being enslaved by the opposing party as their weapon is high and I don’t want to take a risk.]
[Sword Forge From Chaos: And the rewards that are provided by the system after completing the Main Task… it isn’t enough for me to take the risk. Aside from the 50,000 AMCG Points, the random divinity reward isn’t needed and it will only hinder my growth.]
Chaos wasn’t willing in taking any risk especially if the rewards weren’t that good for him.
Chaos was well aware that he wasn’t strong enough to deal with Heretic Gods that were at Perfection Realm Initial Stage and above unlike Allen. And for Chaos, he would rather die than become a weapon for those Gods since he already has a wielder.
It was taboo for not only him but the entire Ancient Sword race to betray their wielder so he didn’t want to take any risk in meeting those Semi-Supreme Beings that were clearly stronger than him.
As a member of the Ancient Sword race, Chaos wasn’t that greedy compared to those humans who easily committed the seven deadly sins. Since none of the rewards of the Main Task interested him that much and knowing of the risk of the Main task, Chaos decided not to participate in Main Task. The risk outweighed the benefits he would receive from the Main Task.
Because Chaos did not participate in the Main Task, that only left the competition for the Main Task to Deus, Axel, and John. After all, Allen and Iris were guaranteed to get two spots for participation in the Main Task.
With that in mind, Deus, Axel, and John were left to compete for the Main Task participation slots.
[Time Manipulator Of The Apocalypse: So that only leaves Deus, Axel, and I.]
[Self-Proclaimed Genius Goblin Hero: How are we going to settle this then?]
Axel asked but he soon regretted asking that.
[Time Manipulator Of The Apocalypse: By random draw.]
