[Nightmare] - 226 [Charlotte’s Proposal]
Marie looked around in bewilderment.
Riley perked up with a bright smile. “Isn’t this Liskabomb?”
BOOOOOOM!
A dazzling rainbow-colored bomb exploded right next to them.
“YEP!” Charlotte screamed with an ecstatic expression, “It’s definitely fucking Liskabomb!”
Marie started giggling uncontrollably.
She was captivated by how happy Charlotte was by the illusion.
“Leave it to Hellie to travel countless lightyears away and then use his magic to recreate my favorite video game.” Charlotte cried.
“But now I’m IN IT! I’m livin’ this shit!”
Charlotte looked around with an invigorated expression. She had never been so thrilled in her life.
Helix laughed with a bright smile. He was so happy she was getting the experience she wanted.
Marie giggled and looked around. “Leave it to—”
BOOOOOM!
A blue bomb hitting the area near them cut Marie off mid-sentence.
“WHAAAAT!?” Charlotte yelled with a mocking tone.
BOOM!
“ONLY YOU WOULD WANT YOUR MARRIAGE—” Marie yelled back before—
BOOOM!
A vibrant red and yellow explosion on a hilltop.
“PROPOSAL IN A PLACE WHERE HELIX CAN’T HEAR YOU!”
BOOOOOOOOM!
A sparkling pink explosion hit Charlotte, shredding off her entire t-shirt, leaving her tattered green bra barely intact.
Marie and Riley blushed furiously.
They looked at Helix with shock in their eyes.
He shrugged and gave them an expression that read, [It couldn’t be helped].
They turned back to Charlotte, who was trembling.
“FUCK YES!” Charlotte screamed at the top of her lungs.
A bright orange light lit up behind Helix’s back.
Charlotte saw the alchemy design from a fortification circle light up, and her face exploded with excitement.
She ran at full speed and hit Helix in the chest.
BOOOOOOM!
A booming sound rang when Charlotte threw him into the wall and kissed him.
He used the orange light with the Level 5 fortification spell the night before.
The fortification spell, paired with the Circle of Secrecy, made it impossible for anyone in the castle to know Charlotte almost blasted through a wall.
As a result, she didn’t hold back as she physically assaulted him with her love.
Marie and Riley watched her kiss Helix with blushed expressions.
Her shirt was almost non-existent in the illusion, and her movements were aggressive and primal.
The scene was far too extreme for a marriage proposal.
Helix pushed her away with force, but it was playful.
He also didn’t have a choice and laughed while doing it. Otherwise, things could’ve gotten out of hand.
Helix moved over and picked the envelope and letter off the floor.
Everyone’s eyes widened when they saw she had thrown it.
However, when his hand touched it, a white embroidered circle on the back of both lit up, and the envelope straightened out.
“That’s… so extra.” Charlotte chuckled with happiness in her eyes.
Marie and Riley burst into giggles.
“Only Helix….” Riley giggled.
“Uses magic for the most useless yet special reasons imaginable.
Helix gave them a charming smile and handed her the envelope and letter. “Will you continue reading the letter?”
“With~pleasure.” Charlotte chimed, grabbing the letter. She opened the envelope and took it out slowly, truly nervous.
“Charlotte Kline, in the right pocket, you’ll find your—”
Charlotte stared at the page with disbelief in her eyes.
Helix gave her a wicked grin.
“W-What does it s-say?” Marie laughed with a choked voice.
“It~saaaaays.” Charlotte chuckled in astonishment.
“Symbol. Sir Helix Hellsgate Margrave requested I tell you that he put your engraved ring in the right pocket for an unknown reason.”
Charlotte burst into uncontrollable laughter, letting herself fall to the floor in disbelief, dry-heaving.
“I… don’t understand.” Riley commented in confusion.
“He~had… hahaha… the queen… haha… the motherfuckin’ queen make… hahahaha… a harem joke!” Charlotte cried.
“He put our rings… in order… of our sleeping positions!”
Stunned silence.
Marie looked at Helix.
Helix grinned.
She smiled.
Riley giggled.
The room rattled with a hysterical explosion of screaming laughter.
Helix gave Charlotte an evil smile.
“You… power play… hahahah!” Charlotte screamed.
“You know how to charm~your~woman!”
He reached into the envelope and pulled out her ring.
It had a rainbow gemstone on it that looked slightly pixelated.
Charlotte’s eyes glittered with excitement. She gave Helix a childish look that screamed [gimme, gimmie, gimme]!
Helix laughed and gave it to her.
When it connected, it glowed with a spectrum of colors.
“The rainbow is a cheap illusion.” Helix chuckled, “But I knew you’d like it.”
Charlotte looked at him with eager, golden hazel eyes.
“I love it!” She cried with genuine happiness.
The blonde was trying her hardest not to burst into tears.
“So… I mean like… I extra like you forever.” Helix said with a charming smile.
“So, whatevs. Here’s a ring. Love and stuff. Wifey?”
Marie and Riley’s expressions crumbled.
They were extremely confused by what Helix had said.
However, they were even more confused when Charlotte burst into tears.
She grabbed him by his shirt before putting her forehead on his chest.
“You dummy!” Charlotte cried, “You’re not supposed to make me… cry, you idiot!”
She pounded it lifelessly, and Helix looked at her with a gentle gaze.
What bewildered everyone was that it wasn’t a joke.
Marie and Riley had never seen so much genuine emotion come from Charlotte. It was truly unreserved and special.
Like soldiers hearing the words [broken] and [cheat], whatever Helix said was special.
As with their love life, the two spoke a different language only they understood.
Marie and Riley could never understand how she got Helix to do and say things so out of character. However, they learned that it worked in reverse as well.
They couldn’t figure it out because they didn’t speak the same language. It was simple as that.
“Wifey, yes, love, things, house, WHATEVS!” Charlotte cried.
Helix hugged her close and let her sob on his chest.
He was so happy he could express emotions so pure.
When she stopped sobbing, he patted her head.
“Charm Frag?” Helix asked while pulling something off her waist.
“I like explosives.” Charlotte replied playfully.
Helix gave her a bomb, and her eyes glittered with excitement.
Three men ran over a mountain top.
“Let’s fuck that hoe up!”
“Hey! You’re not playing a dating sim, little girl!”
“But she’s cute, though!”
“Get lost, noobflakes!” Charlotte roared after pressing a switch and throwing the grenade.
When the grenade got close, a thin, blue horizontal wall shot across the battlefield and fell on the men like a laser scanning an object.
“Gahhhhhhhh! What the fuuuuuuuck.”
Charlotte’s eyes widened in shock when the men smashed into the earth.
Marie and Riley were confused as well. It looked a lot like—
BOOOOOOOOM!
A massive pixelated rainbow exploded in the area, destroying the entire hill.
—gravity magic and a firey explosion tied to it.
“What the fuck was that!?” Charlotte cried.
Her puffy red eyes were sparkling like a prism with the residual rainbow light.
“It’s like a charm frag after an area is scanned and [Domain] lays waste to someone!”
Helix chuckled and gave her a mysterious mile.
“That’s what you just watched. [Literally]. A demonstration of what will really happen, anyway.”
Charlotte, Marie, and Riley looked at Helix with shocked eyes.
“Marie’s a leader and protector.” Helix explained.
“You’re our tank that rains death and murder on things.
Therefore, your ring is a Level 3 Circle of Illusion whose only purpose is to make [Fireball] look like Charm Frag and a laser scanner for [Domain].”
Marie, Charlotte, and Riley looked at Helix as if he were an alien for a moment.
Then Charlott exploded with laughter and delight.
“I LOVE IT!” She declared.
Everyone burst into laughter.
“You can’t use it in this room. Hence the demonstration illusion.” Helix chuckled.
“But that’s [exactly] what it looks like.
Make sure to show it off later to the otakus and weebs.”
“Haaaaaah. This is exclusive, yeah?” Charlotte laughed.
“Because everyone will be jealous of me like they were of you when you got here.
Mwahahahaha!”
More giggles and laughter burst through the room.
“Look at the engraving.” Helix chuckled.
Charlotte looked down at the ring he had just put on her finger.
Then she burst into evil laughter.
“What does it say!?” Marie cried.
“It~says.” Charlotte sassed.
She showed it to Marie and Riley.
They instantly had a meltdown and burst into tears.
Of joy.
And laugher.
On the side, in cursive letters with two words.
[So~Hot].
“Ultra~punnnnnn.” Charlotte sang while holding her ring out to admire it.
“Talkin’ bout me, my Nightmare, and word~choices. I~like~it.”
She smacked with ultimate emphasis.
Helix chuckled before turning to Riley.
“Riley.” He called out while taking the letter out of Charlotte’s hand.
It glowed again, and the parchment straightened.

Activating any circle took skill and centration, as they took different spirit particle mixtures.
Creating magic circles was extremely difficult, and using them required more skill than normal spells.
So the fact he activated one so casually was bewildering.
