My Second Life in Another World - Chapter 320: Third Scenario Starts
Chapter 320: Third Scenario Starts
“I am taking on the west side alone you guys can handle the north side,” Haru stated simply.
“Can you do it?” Hee-won asked, she just wanted to make sure he wasn’t taking any risk.
“Absolutely, anyway your side will need to get rest and switch since we will be doing this for 8 hours, I can handle that easily on this side,” Haru said and the others didn’t say anything.
Sang-ah and Hyun-sung looked worried since it would be hard to face the monsters all night long, but they chose to believe in him since he said so. They haven’t seen him go all out yet and neither have they seen Haru get tired.
‘Ok this is good,’ Dok-ja was ok with this development since he could actually see Haru fight properly, even the current Jung-hyuk will have a hard time trying to stop the monsters alone, he can survive no doubt but to stop each and every one of those monsters now that is a different story.
Also, he knew that their side would need to work in two groups, This needed to be done so that they can avoid getting exhausted from fighting over a long period.
“That is just stupid, aren’t you going to stop him Jin-ah Unnie,” Ji-hye was a bit taken aback by how everyone agreed to it.
“Don’t worry, aside from that are you sure you want to fight here?” Jin-ah asked as Ji-hye only came to see them at first.
“I think I am too deep into this swamp to go back now,” Ji-hye glared at Haru since he was the reason she got stuck here now. When she arrived Haru said that she’ll also help them with their plan which made it hard for her back off since the people were looking at her with hope.
And above all else, Ji-hye also wanted to save these people, she didn’t want them to die but Jung-hyuk told her that she wasn’t strong enough to do this alone, So now that she saw Haru and the others do this she joined in, a worst-case scenario she can run taking Jin-ah and Alea.
“Ok, so we are up first,” Jin-ah looked at Hee-won, Ji-hye, and Dok-ja. These three are going to be the front-liners who will be called Team A with 25 people behind them to stop the remaining monsters that get past these guys while Queresha, Gil-young, and Jin-ah will be standing a little further away from the front lines providing support.
The second team consists of Hyun-sung, Nam-woon, Sang-ah, and Alea, they are Team B. The front-liners will switch every hour in order to let them rest and not burn out.
Haru was standing on the west side alone with the 25 people who were going to fight as well behind him. They were there just in case Haru missed a monster or two. They will also switch with the other support team after an hour and will go in with Team B.
They were already at their positions as there were only a few minutes left before the scenario started.
“Haru you need the katana?” Hee-won asked with a cheeky smile, it would be funny if he does ask her for it.
Haru laughed as he put his hands together and did an unsheathing motion. There was a burst of fire between his hands and he was now holding a sheathed katana in his hand.
“No I don’t think so,” Haru said waving the new katana.
“Why does he act so cool? even his katana looks better, That is so unfair,” Hee-won grumbled at the visual effects, she tried to do the same motion as Haru’s but it didn’t work, and could only pout in unhappiness wishing for the monster to come early.
‘I’ll take my anger out on them,’ Hee-won thought as her eagerness to fight increased.
‘That one does seem stronger than Hee-won’s,’ Dok-ja also agreed but he still hadn’t checked the information on these weapons so it was just a guess based on the aura around the weapon.
Dok-ja also increased his strength since he will need it in the upcoming fight bringing all of his physical stats to level 20. He had to spend more coins than he originally planned, but he knew it would be raining coins here as soon as the scenario started, The reason for that was simple, it was because they were doing it in a way no one else had done it.
‘Right now no matter what type of constellation it is, they are all stoked to see what will happen next,’ Dok-ja was very compelled to just leave the group and go into a green zone but he knew if he did that very well may be the end of his journey, of course, he knew no one in the group would actually blame him.
If he does this, it will create a distance between them that won’t be closed again no matter what happens after that. Every single member of the team seemed like they were about to give it their all. It isn’t that they weren’t scared, they were but they seemed to believe that they’d overcome it.
Call it optimism or blind trust, they were prepared for what is about to come. Dok-ja had checked the other’s stats, Hee-won had 18 on all of her physical stats, Hyun-sung was the same and Nam-woon seemed to have focused on Physique, agility, and Magic power raising them to 20.
‘Perks of having strong backers,’ Dok-ja knew that Hyun-sung and Nam-woon were helped by the constellation behind them. Hee-won also had a constellation in the shape of Haru, he had given her coins to increase her strength.
Dok-ja couldn’t check others’ stats but he knew that they were on this level if not higher given the things he had heard and seen. While Dok-ja mused over this a blue panel appeared in front of everyone.
[The Third Main Scenario has been activated.]
This got everyone’s nerves to tense up as they all gripped their weapons tightly; they were all ready for the onslaught.
“The Monsters have appeared from the tracks, they just keep pouring out,” Gil-young’s voice rang clearly because of the surroundings.
He was tasked to monitor where the monsters are going to come from or how many of them are coming by using his insects that were scattered around the station on the key points.
“Team A get ready also Sang-ah wait for my signal,” Queresha gave out her order, and Team A consisting of Hee-won, Dok-ja, Ji-hye and Jin-ah got ready to attack.
“They’ve reached the second floor,” Gil-young said again and everyone could hear the roars and growls of the beasts coming from the escalators.
“They’ve climbed up,” Gil-young said as monsters poured into the floor from both sides.
They were mostly ground rats along with wolves and bear-like monsters, the most powerful ones among these monsters were grade 8 at best, but the problem wasn’t their grades, it was…
‘There are so many of them,’ Dok-ja thought as nearly a hundred monsters poured onto the floor on their side.
They were standing 200 feet away from the escalator and 100 feet away from the hallway that led up to the escalator, the hallway was 100 feet long and 50 feet wide.
The monsters have crossed nearly 100 feet and were about to get out of the hallway into the open space.
“Sang-ah now,” Queresha ordered and Sang-ah pulled the shining threads wrapped around her fingers and the monsters running in the front stumbled onto the ground with the one behind them falling over the ones in front.
SPLAT* CRACK* CRUNCH*
This was done in order to break the monster’s momentum as that was the main problem aside from their numbers. Now with that done the monsters started to pile up as the others behind kept on running trampling on the ones that had fallen and killing them as well.
“Now,” Queresha said as both Jin-ah and she sent in a barrage of sharp ice shards killing or seriously injuring most of the monsters that came out from the hallways.
‘It would be so good if we can just repeat this over and over,’ Dok-ja laughed dryly as he unsheathed his sword, he knew that won’t be possible since the mana cost to do that spell would be huge and it could likely be only done in emergency cases.
“It is our turn now,” Hee-won didn’t need to be told and got ready to attack the monsters that made it out of the hallways cutting them down.
