My Goalkeeping System - 338 Strong Influence
The locker room celebration seemed to be quite louder than usual and that was expected because the match that just ended was a very important match for them and they got so close to losing it that that comeback came as a shock to them also.
They were chanting songs of jubilation so loudly that nobody could even speak in the room and hear what he said clearly.
Just like always, Dave didn’t feel like joining them and the same could be said for Mateo who was sitting beside him.
But, unlike Dave, Mateo seemed to be quite interested in all the running around they were doing while Dave just sat there.

‘Only sixty experience points, that’s expected.’
<Yeah, but you did quite well without the system>
‘Yeah, but I was caught off guard, things wouldn’t have gotten so intense if I was prepared for what was going to happen.’
<That’s true, but I did tell you to always be ready for your system failing you in matches, you shouldn’t have been ready but you still managed to pull through>
‘Yeah, I wonder what they would have been doing now if we were the ones that got eliminated instead.’ He said subconsciously before turning his gaze to his teammates who were still celebrating wildly in the locker room.
<They’ll be depressed of course, and worst of all, you’re going to start blaming yourself in your head>
‘Huh.’
<You’re a specialist in doing that, blaming yourself for things that aren’t exactly your fault>
‘Hey, let’s not talk about that now, after all, we didn’t lose, no one is depressed and I’m not blaming myself.’
“Hey, come on you two, you don’t have to just sit down in a situation like this.”
Before the goalkeeper could even turn his gaze to his teammate who just spoke those words, he was pulled along with Mateo.
Both of them were dragged into the middle of everything before they could say anything and who else other than Minino would do something like that?
“Hey, Dave, give this a try.” The midfielder said before raising a cup filled with some sort of alcoholic drink in front of the goalkeeper, it wasn’t beer, it was something stronger.
“No, I don’t….”
Before he could finish what he was saying, Minino quickly forced the mouth of the cup into his mouth and poured more than half of the content inside. It was at that moment that Dave fully became part of the party.
He quickly grabbed the drink from Minino and staggered his way to Mateo.
Once he got to the winger, he put his right arm around his neck before holding up the drink to his nose.
“Woah, that’s pretty strong, Dave, did you drink that?” Mateo asked as soon as the stench of the drink entered his nose.
“Um…yeah.” The goalkeeper said. He seemed to be dozing off.
<Get a hold of yourself, Dave> Catherine tried to call him back to his senses, but his mind was completely blank. <Just like I thought, he’s totally under the influence of alcohol now>
“Here, have a drink too.” The goalkeeper said before moving the drink closer to Mateo’s mouth but the winger wasn’t going to allow that to enter his system, at least not in a situation like this.
“No.” He said before he quickly took the drink off the goalkeeper’s hand and dropped it on the table in the middle of the room. “If you’re already this drunk, then you shouldn’t remain here anymore.”
He already had his arm around the winger’s shoulders so moving him out of the area was easier.
“Hey, guys, I’m just going to take Dave home, I don’t know who told him to drink something he couldn’t handle and now he’s like this,” Mateo said as he walked out of the locker room with Dave.
“I wasn’t expecting anyone to get drunk,” Roland said.
“Wasn’t he just sitting over there with Mateo? I knew he had his reasons for staying out of it.” Martinez said before taking a sip from the drink he was holding.
“I didn’t know he was a light drinker,” Minino said with an awkward expression on his face.
“Oh, so you were the one that did it.”
Minino quickly turned around to see that Merino was the one standing behind him and he didn’t look that happy.
Mateo managed to drag Dave through the hallway without getting spotted by the coach or anyone who was going to make a fuss about his current situation, and now that he was outside, he was a bit confused.
“Putting you in your car to drive home by yourself will be a suicidal attempt, so there’s only one thing to do.” He muttered to himself.
He made his way to his car, opened the door, and slowly pushed the goalkeeper in there.
Just before closing the door, he slowly turned his gaze to Dave’s car which was parked on the other side.
‘I should probably go make sure his car is locked properly.’ He said subconsciously before he searched for the goalkeeper’s car keys and when he found them, he closed the door before making his way to his car to make sure his car was properly locked.
After making sure the car was properly locked, he made his way back to his car and he didn’t waste any time opening the door to the driver’s seat.
After entering the car, he turned his gaze to the back to see that Dave was already fast asleep there.
“You’ll have to come pick up your car in the morning.” He muttered before he started the car’s engine and drove out of the area before zooming off down the road.
Emma was busy watching a show in the living room when she suddenly heard a knock on the door.
After hearing that knock, she turned her gaze to the wall clock to see that the time was just 10:57 PM.
“He’s back pretty early.” She said before she got up from the couch and made her way to the door.
What she saw after opening the door wasn’t something she was expecting to see.
“Oh, my God, what happened to him?” She asked with a surprised expression on her face.
“Um….he’s drunk, I think that’s pretty obvious,” Mateo said before entering the house with the goalkeeper.
He led him to the couch and slowly dropped him there before turning his gaze to his sister who seemed to have a worried expression on her face.
“He’s gotten drunk a couple of times before but what did he drink that made him pass out like this?” She asked after she sat down beside him on the couch and placed her hand on his forehead.
“It was a strong alcoholic drink, I don’t know the name but I’m not surprised he’s in this state because of it, I don’t know how much of it he drank though,” Mateo explained.

“Yeah, it was the least I could do, his car is still at the stadium though, so he has to go over there in the morning and pick it up, I made sure it was locked, here’s the key.” He expressed, before dropping the key on the table.
“Thank you.”
“Don’t mention it.” The winger said. “I have to get going now.”
“Yeah, it’s already late,” Emma said before she got up from the couch and wrapped her arms around him in a warm embrace. “Get home safe, okay.” She added before raising her gaze to look at his face.
“I will.”
She saw him out, and as soon as he was gone, she closed the door before returning to Dave.
“I told you not to come home drunk, but I guess you just never listen to me.” She said before placing her hand on his head.
