My Girlfriend is an S-Class Adventurer - Chapter 153: The Grand Final (2)
Chapter 153: The Grand Final (2)
Even after being hit several times, Luke remained on the defensive. He just deflected and deflected and defended himself, repeating this tiresome process that irritated both Nebezial and the audience.
“Let’s go quick, you bastard! Give it up!”
“Why does he keep dodging!? That’s no the way to win a battle!”
“That bastard must have realized by now that he can’t beat the great Nebezial, the next Secular!”
“Fuck you! I wanted a decent final battle, not a massacre!”
“Are you guys really blaming the half-beast? He shouldn’t be more than twenty-two or twenty-four years old, while that scumbag Nebezial is almost thirty!”
“I trust that the ‘Half-wolf’ will turn things around! He always does!”
The truth was that the more Luke understood the way Nebezial fought, the less he found loopholes to attack. But still, he would find some loopholes.
At one point, when the former champion brandished his sword forward and then to the side, Luke took advantage of the situation that his opponent would need to make a maneuver to get his saber back and used the <Vind> sign with his left hand. The air current created by the skill pushed the man backward, which Luke could also take advantage of to strike.
The half-wolf struck with his axe, and Nebezial struggled to block. Nevertheless, the Behemoth Axe was relentless. The half-wolf’s weapon broke the obsidian sword in half. This happened because Luke applied enough force and also because the quality of the axe’s material was superior.
The moment his sword was split, Nebezial’s eyes widened. Even though he knew that the axe was of high quality, he would never have imagined that his weapon forged by a Master Blacksmith could be broken so easily.
‘Is that fucking an Epic Panspermia Weapon? No, there isn’t a weapon of that level on the market.’
Although Panspermia Weapons with similar levels could match each other, like Serena’s Panspermia Sword and like Hanemiya’s Dagger, this kind of weapon was far above ordinary weapons made of ores.
Right after being stunned, Nebezial was the one who took a few steps back. Since Luke was no fool, the half-wolf took advantage of this retreat to press harder. Since Luke was no fool, the half-wolf took advantage of this retreat to press even harder. In desperation, Nebezial used the rare level skill <Brann> twice. This skill created multiple fireballs, which were hurled at the half-beast.
Luke placed his bracelets in front of his face and continued to run. The fireballs hit him and burned him superficially.
‘Tsk! This guy is too pushy! I didn’t want to have to use this, but I’m going to have to,’ thought Nebezial, as he saw that the half-wolf continued to advance. “<Tumult of Souls>!”
From Nebezial’s hands, a dense smoke billowed out as fast as it could. The audience saw the entire battlefield area being covered by a black cloud. Some people moved even closer to the shield, on the parapet of the bleachers adjacent to the circle. Then low moans began to be heard, which quickly evolved into loud murmurs and cries.
“Did you guys see that? There’s something moving inside the smoke!”
“I saw it too!”
“Could it be Nebezial and the ‘Half-Wolf’?”
“Look! There it is!”
White figures were easily highlighted within the smoke, which many thoughts were the two men fighting within the skill. However, things were not that simple, because for the half-wolf, that was, in fact, a tumult of souls.
Inside the smoke, dozens of things were attacking him from all sides. In addition, he could hear intermittent cries and phrases about pain, about the cold.
This moment of agony made him remember the things he saw a few minutes ago in the fight against Serena and remembering this, his senses became even more confused.
‘Shit, Shit! Stop thinking about it… you have a goal!’ Luke spoke to himself internally. ‘You have to find Meredith and reward them for not leaving you alone… or rather, they need to find me. To know that I am okay and that they can be safe if they are with me.’
Even though Luke tried to regain his focus at all costs, he succeeded when he was hit by a punch from Nebezial. Soon after landing the first blow, the blue-haired man landed three more blows to Luke’s face. Amidst all the turmoil in his mind, Luke ended up losing his axe in the smoke.
“What now, you piece of shit? You still think you’re the badass for standing up to me?” Nebezial kept punching the half-wolf with gritted teeth and an angry frown on his face.
Nonetheless, the worst mistake a human being could make when fighting against a beast is to unleash his instincts and senses. Inside the smoke and away from the gazes of the thousands of people, Luke felt as if he had arrived home after yet another robbery. He held up one of Nebezial’s fists that were about to hit him, and before his opponent had a chance to react, he punched him in the face.
Luke’s blow was strong and threw Nebezial away. Still in the smoke, Nebezial landed next to the Behemoth Axe, which he instinctively picked up. To the man, the axe was a bit heavy and probably exceeded one hundred and fifty pounds, which was not at all surprising for a weapon of that caliber.
But now, Nebezial was lost inside his own ability. He could not deactivate it because it had a duration time of five minutes.
The wailing voices of souls within the smoke were a great nuisance to hear anything. Knowing this factor, because he had experienced it before, Luke used it to camouflage himself.
“Do you think you will be able to hide in my own ability!? My eyes can see everything!” Nebezial bluffed as he slowly rotated in one place, with his knees bent and his body ready to defend a blow.
“Why are you so excited, so dashing?” Luke inquired in a calm voice that seemed to echo within the smoke. “Stand your ground. Like the man who looked so superior in the participants’ seats. Or was that just a mask of pedantry?”
“Shut up… you don’t know me. You have no right to label me.” The man hissed while firmly holding the handle of the axe.
“Oh? How strange… I bet you labeled all the participants as weak, before you saw us in battle. Isn’t that why you decided to use weapons and skills in this battle?”
Just as Nebezial was about to strike back with words, he felt something like a slap on his right hand, and when he realized, the Panspermia axe had disappeared from his hands.
“What the fuck… How did you do that?”
Luke emerged in the smoke in front of the man, holding the Behemoth Axe. “Let’s just say that every thief has his tricks….”
