The poem that Mo Li recited, containing the words “Hongxing” and “Li”, was he trying to imply their destined connection?
On the plane, they casually chatted and discovered that they were heading to the same country, even the same city. Eventually, they even became neighbors…
Three years later, in S City.
Having stayed up until 2 a.m. to finish a proposal, Su Hongxing nearly couldn’t get out of bed in the morning.
When Mo Li opened the door and walked in, he saw Su Hongxing emerging from her bedroom, bleary-eyed and clad in a cartoon-printed pajama set.
He paused, his gaze falling on her elegant and beautiful collarbone.
He had always believed that a woman’s collarbone was the most sensual part of her body. He appreciated beauty, and he admired beautiful women with good figures and pretty faces even more. If they had lovely, sexy collarbones, he’d find them absolutely perfect.
It was hard to believe that Su Hongxing, clad in a cartoon-printed pajama set, had dropped from over 130 pounds to a slender beauty in just three years…
“You’re here…” Su Hongxing, completely unaware of the spark in Mo Li’s eyes, yawned again before heading into the bathroom. “Just wait a moment, I’ll be quick.”
“We have time. Don’t rush.”
Mo Li brought out a still-steaming breakfast, served it in a bowl, and prepared a bowl of porridge for Su Hongxing.
After freshening up, Su Hongxing was immediately more energetic.
She changed into a clean, crisp business suit, tied her hair into a ponytail, and with her small, bare face glowing, she almost resembled a freshly peeled egg. Her eyes were her most attractive feature; they were like veiled mysteries when she was sleepy, tempting one to peer behind the curtain.

But when she was alert, her eyes sparkled with clarity and brightness.
Seeing the energetic Su Hongxing, Mo Li’s eyes darkened slightly, as if his heartbeat had quickened.
He was normally a slow-to-warm-up person, appearing mild-tempered on the surface but rather indifferent in nature.
He had even thought he would never fall for a woman in his lifetime. But now, he wondered if perhaps there was truth to the saying that familiarity breeds affection.
“What are you thinking about? Eat quickly. Didn’t you say this case was very important? If we win, our company’s financial crunch could be temporarily lifted.” Su Hongxing decidedly lacked elegance while eating her breakfast, quickly slurping down her porridge.
Seeing Mo Li still leisurely sipping his porridge, she shoved two meat buns into his hands, took a bite of one herself, and picked up her handbag. “We’ll eat on the way, we need to hurry.”
“Su, there’s no need to rush. The bidding doesn’t start until ten. It’s only half past eight. We have plenty of time.” Mo Li said, laughing lightly.
“Who knows if we’ll get stuck in traffic? It’s better to go early. This time, let’s aim to win this project.” Su Hongxing said confidently, her eyes gleaming.
Mo Li couldn’t argue with Su Hongxing, and ended up going along with her plan.
As a result, they arrived at their destination before half past nine.
There were over thirty companies participating in the bidding that day and it was just the preliminary round.
Su Hongxing was brimming with confidence before they arrived, but after seeing the ostentatious representatives of the other companies, she suddenly felt she and Mo Li were too shabbily dressed.
Mo Li appeared nonchalant, and said with a smile to Su Hongxing, “The important thing is to participate, don’t be nervous.”
“Our company is on the verge of bankruptcy. If we win this project, there’s a chance of revival. If not, our company will likely go under. It’s breathtaking how calm you can be.” Su Hongxing reprimanded him and then noticed Mo Li was looking at her and smiling.
Mo Li was smiling because Su Hongxing had become more human, more relatable, compared to three years ago.
