My Dual-Cultivation System - 65 Shameless Dong Ju
“Haha… It’s been some time since anyone has used this place so the lock seems to be a little rusty. Don’t worry it will open soon. Give me two seconds.” Dong Ju said with a bittersweet smile as the key was coming out of the padlock.
After trying a few more times, he started pulling it using all his strength as it was tightly stuck inside. Keeping one leg on the door’s body, he used all his power to pull the key out from the padlock.
The two seconds had passed long ago but his struggle continued. The trio got to see the wrestling between Key, padlock, and a man.
The match was going in a direction that appeared as if the man was getting bullied by the pair of keys and padlock but he didn’t give up and kept using all his strength to fight it.
Yue Yan shook his head and the Shangguan Sisters were feeling dismayed, seeing the condition of the padlock and the key.
The girls were having a bad premonition that the room wouldn’t be that great but the boy wasn’t concerned as it didn’t matter to him how bad the room could be.
Just as Dong Ju was using all his strength to pull the key, he was thrown away and the Aldrop of the door was broken apart.
The key was stuck inside the padlock which was in his hand and the man was on the ground with a scrunched face as he winced in agony.
The trio gazed at the man laying on the floor as he gave a forced smile and stood up, patting the back of his clothes that were dusted because of falling.
“The door is completely unlocked now, you won’t need to wrestle with that key and padlock again,” Yue Yan said, pointing towards the door that had its Aldrop and handles stripped from its body.
Shangguan Ling’er was trembling as she stopped herself from laughing and Bing’er kept her calm as it didn’t affect her.
“Ah… I will ask a Carpenter to fix the door’s Aldrop and its lock.” The man spoke with a bittersweet smile.
Ling’er nodded with a serious face as she couldn’t complain about the room her team members were given for free.
Dong Ju moved towards the door and pushed it open to walk inside.
Yue Yan and the Shangguan Sisters followed in as they saw the interior of the room.
Their foot clicked on the ground, making a dense sound as it was colliding with the thick dust and scattering the dirt powder in every direction.
The floor was made of old, worn wooden planks that creaked beneath their feet as they walked inside.
There was no bed in the room, just a bare floor covered in a thick layer of dust. The dirt was so dense that it seemed to have accumulated over years, and the trio could see the outlines of footprints behind them.
Cobwebs hung from the corners of the room, stretching from wall to wall, and they could also see spiders scampering across the webs.
A mouse scurried across the floor, its tiny feet making faint scuffing noises as it went.
The air was musty and stale, and tiny particles of dust floated in the sunlight that filtered in through the hole of the small window, which was small and dirty, with grimy glass that let in only a thin stream of light.
Despite the small size of the quarter, there were a few possessions that were present in the room. It was the two, rusty buckets in the corner which were decorated with cobwebs.
The Shangguan sisters looked at each other, their expressions reflecting the disappointment they felt.
The man said, “Father told me to clean this place but I forgot. This room wasn’t used for some time so it’s a little dusty but I think you guys would be able to live here after doing a little cleaning. There is a bathroom beside the warehouse that you guys can use but you have to get the water from the river. I just remembered I have some important matters to attain so I will go back now.”
Saying that Dong Ju escaped the scene as he was embarrassed to stay any longer.
It appeared the village head asked him to clean this place but he forgot and placed the responsibility on these three people who were going to live there.
The Trio didn’t bother to ask him for anything as they could see in his gaze that he was reluctant to face them.
The room seemed to be closed for decades looking at its condition and the girls were having headaches looking at the soiled place.
“How would we live here?” Ling’er questioned, her face darkened which she didn’t show before the middle-aged man left.
“We just need to clean this place then it should be fine to live here.” Yue Yan said with a faint smile.
“We only have two sets of dresses and they would ruin if we clean.” The crimson-haired beauty showed her reluctance.
“Do you wanna live in the wild and make a house there using branches, leaves, and vines?” Yue Yan asked as he stepped ahead to take the bucket in both of his hands.
“No, but this place is already in very bad condition. At the least, we would have fresh air in the forest.” Ling’er said and moved out of the room to go outside.
Bing’er went along with her as she was going to follow her sister if she decided to live in the open wild.
Yue Yan grabbed the two empty buckets and traveled outside, looking for the river that the village head was talking about.
pA(nD)A no ve1 When the trio was coming they had seen the stream of water but it was a few hundreds meter away from the village entrance.
