My Dual-Cultivation System - 60 The Golden Lion
“Don’t act as if You are closer to her than me. She is my beloved sister so I obviously care about her more than anyone else. Don’t make me feel bad about it with your pickup lines.” Ling’er said, with puffed-up cheeks as she sounded like he wronged her. The girl wasn’t aware of Yue Yan’s unnatural circumstances so she misunderstood him.
“Are you jealous of your sister?” He asked with a feeble smile.
“Why would I be?” The girl questioned with scrunched eyebrows as she refused to accept such an allegation.
“Shouldn’t you be happy that there is one more person beside you who care about your sister? isn’t she very lonely and has no one?” The boy spoke as he tried to convince her of the positive aspects of his friendship with the white-haired beauty.
“Yeah, But I don’t trust you enough to let you be around Bing’er. It’s not like I’m jealous of my sister.” The girl declared as she was dissatisfied with his questions.
Seeing her disgruntled mood, he decided to change the topic, “How long would it take to reach the silver moon village from here?”
p
“I have a way for us to reach the village at a fast pace but I don’t think you would agree,” Yue Yan replied as he thought about his newly acquired pet.
“What method?” Shangguan Ling’er asked in puzzlement.
“I have a battle pet that can help us fasten our journey,” He revealed about his golden lion to the Crimson-haired beauty as he was planning to ride it with his Bing’er.
“Don’t joke with me. I don’t see any battle pets here and they can not be kept in storage. Unless you have acquired the beast’s highest allegiance by the soul pact’s contracting method where you can keep them in your soul sea.” The girl said as she didn’t believe he would be that lucky.
“Would you sisters ride with me if I had it?” Yue Yan asked with a faint smile as he knew Bing’er might not agree.
“Yeah, I would. I will sit between you and Bing’er so she doesn’t refuse like the last night.” She responded, still not believing he may have the battle pet in his soul sea.
“Golden Lion, I call upon you to join me in my adventure.” He didn’t need to say these flowery words as he could call his pet with a thought, the boy still wanted to let her know it wasn’t easy to summon from soul sea.
A light glimmered around Yue Yan that traveled away from him as a golden figure materialized a few meters apart from the duo.
The beast stood tall, its two-meter form towering over the landscape. The lion’s eyes were a bright, piercing blue, and glimmered with power. The golden fur glimmered in the sun, and Its mane was long and flowing, like a river of gold.
The creature moved with grace and ease, its large paws landing silently on the ground with each step. The golden lion approached Yue Yan and sat in front of him as if bowing in respect, it became clear that this was not just any ordinary beast and was loyal to The boy.
Linger’s eyes were amazed and stared in awe at the magnificent golden creature as she saw Yue Yan standing up to step forward,
He hovered his hand to caress the lion’s head, and spoke, “What do you think?”
“It’s so majestic… How did you get so lucky to have him? Did you steal it from the Royal treasury of the Phoenix family?” The girl questioned him as the battle pet was imposing and she didn’t think he acquired it in a righteous manner.
“Nah, The Princess herself gifted me this golden lion.” Yue Yan said, blaming it on Cang Xue as it was easier for her to have such a lavish pet rather than him.
“You won’t stop bragging…” The girl shook her head.
“It’s up to you if you wanna believe me or not.” He shrugged.
As they were talking, A white-haired figure walked out of their temporary tent as she was awake from her slumber.
She was surprised to see the two-meter golden beast as it was sitting near her sister and Yue Yan.
“It’s pretty,” Bing’er mumbled, looking at the battle pet of Yue Yan.
“Wanna ride it with me to the Silver Moon village?” The boy asked.
Before the white-haired beauty could refuse, Ling’er said, “Yeah, let’s go. We need to hurry to the village or we would lose.”
She showed her approval and stood up from her seat to go towards Yue Yan.
The boy knew The crimson-haired beauty was taking initiative so Bing’er wouldn’t feel uncomfortable. He played along and kicked the ground beneath his foot, using his Empress Nova spirit to manipulate gravity to hover in the air before landing on the back of Golden Lion.
He looked down to see The shangguan Sisters as Ling’er was struggling to climb up the two-meter-tall beast.
With a feeble smile, Yue Yan leaned down, offering his hand to help her up.
“Here, give me your hand,” he spoke as he spread his palm in front of the girl.
The girl looked up into his azure eyes as she took his hand which strongly held a grip on her, lifting her up to sit behind him.
Ling’er settled onto the lion’s back, her heart beating rapidly with excitement as she could feel the silky soft fur of the golden light. But she needed to bring her sister to the back of the golden lion as the white-haired beauty was contemplating and was in confusion, not expecting Ling’er to take initiative to ride the battle pet with this boy.
