Li Shengxiao didn’t respond, so she didn’t say anything more. After quickly packing all the medicines, she took them to the cashier to be priced and sorted.
“Hello, here are the items you requested. The total is 536.4. Would you like to pay with cash or with a card?”
Li Shengxiao took the bag she handed over, pulled out a card, and handed it to her, “Card.”
The drugstore clerk saw the black bank card he had passed to her—a kind she had never seen before—and inexplicably thought of the male leads in the idol dramas she watched.
Could this be the legendary black card?
She swiped the card, initially intending to hand over the PIN pad, but was surprised when the transaction went through without needing a password.
“Here’s your card, please take care,” she said as she returned the receipts and card to Li Shengxiao.
Li Shengxiao only took the card from her hand, leaving the receipt, picked up the bag, and left.
Before he went out, the female clerk didn’t forget to courteously say, “Thank you for shopping with us, please take care.”
As soon as he was completely gone, she immediately picked up her phone to call her best friend, “Holy shit, let me tell you, this super handsome guy came to our store to buy cold medicine. I offered to recommend some, but he didn’t want any, and had me pack one of each type of cold medicine instead. And when he paid, do you know what he used? A black card! It seemed like the legendary black card! Oh, what do you think this guy’s identity could be? He sort of looks like a star, but not quite.”
Stars don’t have that kind of aura.
Plus, a black card!
This was the first time she had ever seen that kind of gold-trimmed black card in reality.

Even if she had never met such people, she had at least seen them on TV. In those shows, people with those kinds of cards were either CEOs or super-rich second-generation heirs.
So, had she encountered a CEO or a super-rich young heir?
Her friend, who was woken up in the middle of the night, was dismissive, “You must be dreaming. A ‘super handsome guy’ at the lousy drugstore where you work? You must have been dizzy from watching TV, fallen asleep, and dreamt it. Now you’re mistaking the dream for reality.”
“I’m telling the truth, why don’t you believe me?”
“I believe you, my ass! Tell me, who buys one of every type of cold medicine for a little cold? You think you’re grocery shopping! Go on, say that out loud and see if anyone believes you.”
“I’m telling the truth, he really did buy one of each kind! And that guy was super handsome, like insanely handsome—the kind that’s so good-looking, I was embarrassed to even stare at him!”
“That’s why I’m saying you’re dreaming!”
“Damn it, I’m telling the truth, there really was…”
The female clerk at the drugstore wouldn’t stop telling her friend about the incident with Li Shengxiao buying medicine, wishing she could bring him back and take a photo to prove she wasn’t fantasizing in her dreams—that there really was such a man who came to the drugstore and spent hundreds on cold medicine.
Unfortunately, when she ran outside, the distinguished man was long gone. Disappointed, she held her phone and continued to assert to her ridiculing friend, “I’m telling the truth, why won’t you believe me? It really, really happened! There really was a man so handsome he made my legs go weak who came to our drugstore to buy cold medicine. And he really did pay with the rumored black card. I was cashiering, how could I not know? I remember that kind of card doesn’t even need a password to pay, anyway, it really was true!”
Her voice gradually faded away, as if she was still insisting to the person on the other end of the phone that everything she said was true…
