Outside Kangfei Hospital, a low-profile Bentley sat quietly. Li Shengxiao walked out of Kangfei Hospital, his handsome face calm as he pulled open the car door and got inside.
The car was filled with a low-pressure atmosphere; the air seemed as if it had solidified.
The driver in front dared not look back, asking softly, “Mr. Li, shall we head back now?”
The distinguished man leaned back in his seat, tipped his head back with his eyes closed, his sharply defined handsome features even more stunning from the angle of his reclined posture. He looked as if in deep contemplation, showing no intent to speak.
Even with his eyes closed, his brows were tightly knitted, and he gripped a black cell phone in his hand, holding it so tightly that he didn’t appear to be asleep.
“Mr. Li?” The driver, unsure if the man behind him had heard, steeled himself and called out again.
Li Shengxiao opened his eyes, revealing a pair of deep, hawk-like eyes that hid a burst of violence beneath thick lashes.
The driver, seeing that Li had opened his eyes, originally wanted to ask if they should head back to Dihor Garden. But feeling the oppressive atmosphere in the car, he silently closed his mouth.
The CEO seemed to be in a very bad mood…
And indeed, Li Shengxiao’s mood was very bad, exceedingly so.
He flipped through the phone in his hand, bowing his head to unlock it.
Atop the screen, the avatar of the only person laying in his friends list was bouncing, reminding him of an unread message.
Li Shengxiao’s finger hovered in mid-air, his rose-colored thin lips pressed into a straight line, his face shadowed with a brooding look, such that anyone unaware would have thought he was about to read some important information!

The phone screen lit up and then quickly returned to black.
The driver, seeing the screen turn black and the distinguished man still holding the phone as if about to click it open yet also restraining himself, dared not speak casually.
In the darkness, the noble man remained in that position for a very long time, so long that the driver began to wonder if they would be spending the night in the car when finally a hoarse command came from the back, “Go to Dark Night.”
Dark Night?
Although the driver didn’t understand why the CEO would think to go to Dark Night instead of returning home at this hour, he wisely didn’t ask any questions. Turning the car around, he headed towards Dark Night…
The car smoothly set off.
At this time, the stiffly seated man unlocked his phone and made a call to a rarely used phone number, “In half an hour, I’ll be waiting for you at Dark Night.”
“Uh, right now?”
Li Shengxiao had already hung up the phone.
Half an hour later, the car stopped in front of Dark Night.
“Mr. Li, please follow me.” The attendant at the door, very perceptive, immediately recognized the newcomer and quickly led him to the VIP area.
Li Shengxiao took up a booth on the second floor that overlooked the entire bar scene, ordered a few bottles of alcohol, instructed the waiter to open them, and poured the contents into a glass which he began to swirl and drink.
When Fu Yi hurried over, Li had already drunk half a bottle of XO.
He was smarter than Cui Jiangjing; on the way there, after getting the call, he had used his connections to check the recent happenings in Capital City and of course knew what had transpired.
He sat opposite the man who clearly seemed to be in a bad mood, silently watching him drink half a glass, then gestured for the waiter to bring over a glass for himself too. He poured a drink, did not prattle like Cui Jiangjing, and silently clinked glasses with Li Shengxiao before downing it first.
Then he slowly placed his glass back on the table, his mellow face filled with resignation, “I heard you broke the ribs of a few men who were just brought into the police station, again for Rong Yan?”
He didn’t know the details of how Li Shengxiao and Rong Yan had met as Cui Jiangjing did, nor did he know about their secret marriage, but he had eyes to see how much a man cared for a woman.
