MMORPG: Crowd Control - 268 Villainous Schemes
After washing his hands thoroughly with soap, Lei Zhen and Samantha began eating at the dining table, acting as if they were some couple of some sort.
“Don’t just eat the chicken and meat. Eat some of those vegetables as well.” Samantha said, picking up a few spinach with her chopstick and placing it in his rice bowl.
Lei Zhen showed a bitter smile at the spinach in his rice bowl.
He does eat his vegetables, except it was usually cabbages or lettuce combined with some good seasoning or salad sauce dipped in it.
“Every dish looks nice, but this spinach looks and tastes like sad,” Lei Zhen said, being brutally honest about it.

“I’m sorry but my ears just experienced a momentary deaf, so could you please repeat your words?” She asked in a very gentle sound. It was a gentle sound that could put one to sleep in peace.
However, Lei Zhen knew it would be a permanent sleep- one that you would never wake up from.
“Cough, what did I say again?” Lei Zhen raised an eyebrow and asked, picking up the spinach with his chopstick and eating it as if it was the top delicacy in the gourmet world.
“Oh right, quit your convenience store job as well and come work as my assistant from now on. License or not, I doubt anyone would dare to go against my decision in the hospital.” Samantha suddenly dropped a bomb, nearly causing Lei Zhen to vomit out the spinach in his mouth.
“Huh? What did you say again?” Lei Zhen grabbed a tissue to wipe his mouth and said in disbelief.
“What do you mean to say it again? I’m telling you to quit that useless job of yours and start assisting my work at the hospital. A part-time convenience store worker? Like seriously, what kind of future do you expect working there?” Samantha snorted coldly.
She wasn’t trying to disrespect the occupation itself, but Lei Zhen’s choice of decision instead.
He was qualified to work as a full-fledged doctor yet chose to degrade himself to a convenience store worker.
Like who does that?
“Was this your entire plan the whole time?” Lei Zhen suddenly asked. He knew something ain’t right when Samantha told him to move over with the excuse of monitoring his behavior for the therapy session.
Samantha chose to remain silent, clearly unwilling to answer his question. She wasn’t a liar, but that doesn’t mean she had to answer the questions truthfully if she chose to stay quiet.
“You are indeed one scheming and shrewd woman…” Lei Zhen narrowed his eyes and stared at her.
“I may be shrewd, but aren’t you the same as well?” She said calmly, picking up another chicken to eat.
Lei Zhen knew this time he was tricked completely and had no choice but to comply with her. Not because she said so, but because he knew he could no longer play dumb and believed working part-time could actually earn him enough money.
Now that his supposedly peaceful life has been ruined because someone had secretly investigated him without his knowledge, he should start picking up his act again. The tantrum he threw on his Uncle, Lei Quan should come to an end as well.
“Fine, but I’ll still need to make a call to Manager Xu Gen to inform him of my resignation. He was generous enough to hire me, so I can’t just pack up and leave without any notice.” Lei Zhen said, retrieving his phone.
“You can save yourself the effort. I’ve already made the call when I was cooking dinner.” Samantha cut him off, telling him that it was pointless to inform Xu Gen.
“Huh? What did you tell my manager?”
“I told him that you have impregnated me and decided to take another high-paying corporate job to support me. The manager instantly understood and gladly accepted the resignation. No need to thank me.”
“I thought you said you weren’t a liar.”
“I’m not,” Samantha flashed a smile but didn’t say anything else as she stood up and headed back to her room. It was clear that the dishes were going to be cleaned by him and that they should sleep early for tomorrow’s work.
Meanwhile, Lei Zhen tilted his head slightly in confusion, unable to comprehend her meaning this time.
“Why did she have to stop her wording there? How am I supposed to decipher that?” He murmured, eating the scary spinach and the few pieces of chicken before going to the kitchen to clean up the table.
While Lei Zhen busied himself with cleaning the dishes, at the Golden Restaurant located in Guangzhou Plaza, two women could be seen sitting in a VIP room labeled Tang’s Group.
“So why did you ask for a meeting, Tang Qiaolian? Are you here to mock or humiliate my downfall as well?” The woman who said that was naturally Cecile, someone that used to be the Vice Leader of the Aries Guild.
Tang Qiaolian chuckled softly when she saw the fiery attitude of Cecile.
“How hilarious things have become.” Tang Qiaolian smirked.
“The usual Cecile would have kept her cool and done some smack-talking with dignity and grace. Yet the current Cecile was nothing but a rambling whore who looked like her body had been violated through and through.” She added.
Cecile clicked her tongue in annoyance when she heard the trash talk, but didn’t rebuke her.
How could she rebuke her from the start?
Everything that Tang Qiaolian said was nothing but the cold hard truth, one that she was unwilling to admit to. Sure, she might have miscalculated things big time, but the only thing she regretted was causing Carlos to still be in the hospital unconscious.
Because of her stubbornness, she had nearly caused Carlos to lose his life in the process, and that was a guilt that she could not delete in her mind.
“Since you have seen my current state, then I guess I can leave now, right?” Cecile suddenly said, preparing to get up and leave.
“Save me the acting, Cecile. I’m sure you agreed to meet with me because you want revenge against the Aries Guild, right? I mean like, how could they just toss you aside for one mistake.” Tang Qiaolian flashed a cold smile and said, sipping some oolong tea in the process.
“Lei Zhen is a special friend of mine and his identity is actually very unique. It was a mistake of you to even attempt to investigate him from the start, but then again, if you didn’t, then how could I have trapped you now?” She added, showing a villainous expression.
Seeing her villainous expression, Cecile finally realized at this moment that her downfall was planned all along by her.
She slammed her palm angrily on the table and stood up. “You’re the one that plotted against me and made me investigate Lei Zhen!”
“Please correct your sentence, Cecilia.” Despite Cecile’s agitation, Tang Qiaolian kept a calm composure. “You are the one that went ahead to investigate Lei Zhen. Never once did I tell you to investigate him, did I?”
Cecile clenched her fist as she began to recall why she even bothered making her way to the Golden Restaurant from the get-go. And when she did, she couldn’t help but want to strangle Tang Qiaolian alive.
She had obtained intel from her spy that Tang Qiaolian was secretly meeting with someone in the success of her first-clear achievement on the Hell’s Domain, so naturally, she was curious as to who the person was.
And at that time, she had already fallen into her trap the moment her curiosity was aroused by Tang Qiaolian.
‘Damn it, what a venomous woman.’ Cecile cursed inwardly, knowing that she was outwitted this time and got checkmated by her.
“You don’t have to put on such a furious look. Losing to me in the wits of battle is nothing special, considering the environment I live in.” Tang Qiaolian suddenly said, seemingly pacifying her unstable emotion.
“Although I won this time and caused you to effectively lose your position in the Aries Guild, it was still kind of a shameful victory because I used someone I never wanted to.”
“Hmph, save me the honorary speech, Tang Qiaolian!” Cecile sneered coldly, unwilling to believe that she would truly think of her victory as unhonorable.
In the wits of battle, the winner is king whereas the losers are nothing.
It doesn’t matter what the process was since only the outcome was truly what matters. And in this battle, Cecile had lost thoroughly, without a single chance of earning a comeback now that she was basically blacklisted.
Tang Qiaolian nodded her head, not bothering to clarify since she knew Cecile was probably too furious to listen to her.
“Believe it or not, I admire your strategy and methods. I requested this meeting not to gloat or humiliate you, but to hire you to become one of my Miracle Wing’s officers.” Tang Qiaolian said, putting down her business card and leaving the room.
