MMORPG: Crowd Control - 248 Stealing the Limelight
Regarding the comment of the reporters planning on deleting the interview footage of the male lead, Doctor Samantha had zero response to that.
What the reporters wanted to do with their footage had nothing to do with her. She was just here to enjoy a show, and as for the rest, it wasn’t her problem.
“What is your name, goddess?” One of the reporters could no longer contain their curiosity as they asked the crucial question. By knowing her name, they could then easily search for her profile online.
Of course, Doctor Samantha was a public figure from the start, so she didn’t mind revealing her name.
“I’m Samantha Ferris, but people usually refer to me as Doctor Samantha.” Samantha smiled and instantly caused the men to swoon over her.
And just when another reporter wanted to ask why she was referred to as a doctor, a person intervened and stared at Samantha.
“Hoh, so you’re Doctor Samantha huh? The name’s Gordon Jack, the male lead of this movie, Perished Island.” Gordon Jack held a confident smile as he extended his hand, seemingly looking for a handshake.
Before Samantha could extend hers to shake his hand, Lei Zhen moved her slightly behind him and shook Gordon Jack on her behalf.
“The name’s Lei Zhen, the companion of Doctor Samantha.” Lei Zhen smiled confidently as well, using Gordon Jack’s style of introduction.
With their hands shaking tightly, almost as if they wanted the other party to let go first, the reporters’ natural instinct of smelling a juicy scoop had been activated.
“What are you doing, Lei Zhen?” Samantha asked from behind, confused by his reaction.
‘Saving you from an arrogant prick.’ That was what Lei Zhen wanted to say aloud, but considering they are at a public event and reporters are literally next to them, he decided to tone it down.
“Nothing much, I was just curious about the male lead of such a fantastic movie, so I couldn’t help but shake the actor’s hand. I mean like, everyone is probably jealous of me right now who are a big fan of Gordon Jack.”
“I sure am quite a popular and in-demand actor these days. If it wasn’t for the great reputation and honor to work with Director Trussle, then I wouldn’t have accepted this role, to begin with.”
With that said, the handshake between the two tightened and their eyes seemed to have sparks clashing now and then.
And although Lei Zhen wasn’t the jealous type, he could tell with a single glance that this Gordon Jack was bad news.
Call it a man’s instinct or something, but Lei Zhen sure as hell wouldn’t let him get close to Samantha.
The handshake doesn’t seem to have an end until the interruption of Jessica and Bella.
“Lei Zhen, you have finally arrived.” Jessica cleverly went for a hug to Lei Zhen, effectively splitting the two men apart.
As she hugged him dearly, Jessica then whispered to his ears, “Gordon Jack isn’t a decent man, but you should mind your image as well and not fall to his level. He’s still the male lead of the movie, so it would be bad for you to continue clashing with him.”
Working with the actor, Jessica and Bella had long known what type of man Gordon Jack was. Nevertheless, they turned a blind eye and prevented him from approaching them at an intimate level for the greater good of the casting team and production company.
Lei Zhen nodded his head and faked a greeting to Jessica, acting as if they hadn’t seen each other for a long time. Since he was a guest invited by her and she had requested him to not overreact, then he would comply with it.
Meanwhile, Gordon Jack was rubbing his sore hand and smiled awkwardly.
“Who is this Lei Zhen to you, Jessica?” He asked, seemingly wanting to know Lei Zhen’s background.
“He’s a friend of mine that I made in Magnolia, and has assisted me greatly. Hence, I gave him two VIP tickets.” Jessica responded and turned her attention to Samantha.
If she wasn’t a woman, then Jessica was sure that she would have been like most men, pouncing toward the elegant and glamorous Samantha.
“Hello, I’m Jessica, and I’m surprised Lei Zhen was able to invite someone of your caliber to our event.” Jessica ignored Lei Zhen and went straight to her, striking up a conversation with her.
“I’m just someone normal, Jessica. You are exaggerating about my appearance.” Samantha chuckled softly.
“Someone normal? If this is called normal, then I’m sure we actresses are long banished from the entertainment world already. Anyway, let’s stop talking in the open and head inside. The event’s about to start soon.” Jessica then said, dragging Samantha to follow her and Bella.
And naturally, the reporters were following them like zombies, only stopping when the security guards prevented them.
Meanwhile, Gordon Jack held an unfriendly look now that the women were gone as he stared at Lei Zhen up and down.
“I have never heard of you before, so you should just leave before things get quite hectic for you. This isn’t an event for nobodies, but someone of my league.” Gordon Jack warned coldly.
Lei Zhen nodded his head and wholeheartedly agreed with Gordon Jack’s words.

Gordon Jack wanted to punch him for the insult but halted himself when Lei Zhen warned him back.
“Are you sure you want to raise a fist at a VIP guest in front of the reporters? If so, then go ahead. I’ll make sure to react in a lot of pain, and exaggerate the scene to have you canceled right here and now.”
Poor Gordon Jack could only grumble in rage and stood still, unable to move an inch.
“It sure was nice meeting you and I hope it’s the last meeting ever too. Keep your hands to yourself, Gordon Jack.” Lei Zhen said and walked past him.
