MMORPG: Crowd Control - 239 Investigated
Butler Gongshun Ren was filled with bliss on his face when he finally managed to convince Lei Zhen to stay for dinner.
He could barely contain the smile hanging on his face as he nodded his head readily.
“Rest assured, Young Master Lei Zhen. I’ll make sure to command someone to bring the freshest lobster and other ingredients right now to cook you a delicious Lobster Fried Rice.” Butler Gongshun Ren said and excused himself from the living room, seemingly in a hurry to get cooking.
Lei Zhen smiled briefly when he watched Butler Gongshun Ren’s back disappearing from the scene. Since he had pulled up the “give some respect to him” card, Lei Zhen wasn’t going to act cold-hearted enough to reject his request.
Gongshun Ren was someone that had assisted him greatly when he was younger, so it was only right for him to listen to his request for the first time.
After all, Gongshun Ren had never requested anything from him when he decided to live alone, far away from the Lei Clan and the other prestigious people in the higher society.
Sometime later, while drinking his cup of tea calmly without talking to Lei Quan at all, almost as if he was invisible, Lei Zhen was surprised to hear him bringing up a topic.
“Nephew Lei Zhen, do you know a person named Cecile?” Lei Quan suddenly asked, completely out of context and unexpected for Lei Zhen.
Originally, Lei Zhen planned on ignoring him, but when he heard the name Cecile, his mind rang a bell.
‘Where did I hear that name before?’ Lei Zhen wondered silently. He was sure that he had recalled such a name recently. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have found it quite familiar despite not having many friends.
After thinking for quite some time, Lei Zhen finally recalled where he had heard the name Cecile before. It was during the time when he went to the Golden Restaurant to meet up with Tang Qiaolian and her friend, Liu Lingxin.
Cecile was the uninvited guest and the vice leader of the current Aries Guild.
“Yes, I have heard of that person before, but we’re not that close.” Lei Zhen responded honestly, seemingly curious as to why Lei Quan would bring up her name.
“Seeing how clueless you are, but still acting stubbornly is what truly amazes me, nephew Lei Zhen.” Lei Quan sighed and shook his head.
And he continued, “You are being investigated secretly yet the alertness you have is next to nothing. And I know you have the greatest AI, Aura as your assistant, but the AI ability is still limited. It’s not omnipotent, and one day, without my protection, you would have died without knowing what’s happening.”
Lei Zhen bit his lips softly when he was being lectured by Lei Quan. If what Lei Quan said was the truth, then there was truly nothing he could say to rebuke his claim.
Throughout his days, he had never expected someone to be secretly investigating him, and definitely would have never thought it would be Cecile, someone he had just met.
As Lei Zhen continued to remain silent, Lei Quan sighed softly and flicked the holographic projection for him to see.

Although Lei Quan’s facial expression didn’t change much, one could easily discern that he was quite enraged. He might not have bothered with the Lei Enterprise, but his warnings to others weren’t a joke or a bluff.
To have someone secretly investigate Lei Zhen when he had specifically placed a ban on doing so was indirectly provoking him.
“So, nephew Lei Zhen, if this woman and man are not close to you, then you wouldn’t mind me burying them alive, right?” Lei Quan then asked Lei Zhen. He was waiting for Lei Zhen to give him the green signal since he was still of the older generation. Lei Zhen might not understand his action and thought process, but that doesn’t mean it was the same for him.
No matter what, at the end of the day, Lei Quan still cared for his nephew despite his stubbornness and rebellious attitude.
Meanwhile, Lei Zhen drank another mouthful from his cup, finishing the tea without realizing it.
“Did you capture Cecile already?” Lei Zhen asked, shifting the topic slightly as he needed to get an understanding of the whole situation first.
“Not yet. My men are overwatching her currently from the shadows, but they are ready to make a move as soon as I give them an order.” Lei Quan responded, snapping his finger and changing the projection screen to one that showed Cecile in her house.
This kind of thing was nothing to Lei Quan, so Lei Zhen wasn’t surprised that he already had Cecile under surveillance. It was just that Lei Zhen thought he had captured Cecile as well alongside the person called Carlos.
“Did that Carlos person explain why he was ordered to investigate me?”
“Nope, and we test-proof it by doing some more interrogation. It seems like you simply aroused the attention of that woman, but what a shame. Beauty or not, investigating someone is quite unsightly.”
“…”
Lei Zhen nearly wanted to rebuke and argued that he was doing the same thing as well, investigating Cecile. Luckily, he managed to keep a hold of his words because Lei Quan was doing this to protect his privacy.
Pondering for a few seconds, Lei Zhen made his decision.
“Do capture Cecile and bring her here for an interrogation. I wish to know if Cecile is working under the order of Shan Zhikong or Shan Lin to have me investigate.” He said decisively, unwilling to let them get away easily.
