MMORPG: Crowd Control - 232 Invitation
When Jessica started mentioning how people should have recognized her from the start, Lei Zhen was pretty confident that she was going to talk about her actress status.
It was just a shame that Jessica didn’t know that those who are frantic players in Magnolia don’t usually pay attention to movies. Thus, not recognizing a famous actress when you are interacting with them isn’t surprising.
Not everyone had the time and leisure to chase after beautiful or hot actresses. People have their own life matters to handle, so if one comes across
an actress in the real world, unless they know about them, it would be easy for the civilians to simply walk past them.
“You can save the effort of telling me that you’re an actress in demand.” Lei Zhen swiftly said, cutting her off to save her some saliva.
“Previously, one of my guild members had told me about your identity because she actually follows the current news and trends compared to me.” He added, explaining how he managed to find out her identity.
Meanwhile, Jessica was taken aback slightly before asking, “Was it that pretty woman previously that told you about me? I saw you chatting with her and only her.”
Lei Zhen nodded his head.
“Mhmm, she’s our Vice Leader and a celebrity in the world of Magnolia, Griselda.” He said calmly, not bothering to hide her identity. Unlike him who preferred to stay low from the attention and media, Griselda was the complete opposite.
She loved to flaunt her beauty and status everywhere, almost as if she was afraid that no one would recognize her.
And given that Jessica had a similar status to Griselda, just in a different category, Lei Zhen thought the two of them would get along quite well if he needed to introduce Jessica to Griselda.
It was definitely not because he saw this as a great opportunity to increase their guild exposure and popularity.
‘Yep, it’s just introducing two peas of the same pod. I definitely don’t have any other thoughts and plans.’ Lei Zhen thought to himself.
Sometime later, Lei Zhen parked the vehicle outside of the restriction border for a stop so the military people could identify them.
Though the moment they saw the vehicle was of the military, Lei Zhen and the rest were able to get the green light to enter back to the Cinderton without much hindrance.
“I’ve been wondering about this, Zhen. But how did you get so close to the NPC?” Jessica asked.
“I mean like, you can even request an NPC to quickly set up a temporary place as a guild headquarters for you. That’s not something you can simply achieve with high rapports.”
Hearing the question, Lei Zhen subsequently parked the vehicle at a nearby street corner before turning around to look at her.
Without saying anything, he merely smiled and was ready to turn on the vehicle again, confusing the hell out of her.
“What?” Jessica exclaimed in confusion, not knowing what his action was supposed to mean.
Meanwhile, Lei Zhen sighed softly as he pointed at his face.
“Don’t you see this handsome face? Wherever I go, I’m bound to earn a lot of respect from the NPCs, similar to how your face could attract millions of people to watch your movie.” He said cheekily, not showing an ounce of shame for calling himself handsome looking.
Of course, that was only possible because he was in the world of Magnolia. If it was in the real world, then Lei Zhen would not have expressed himself much.
“Tsk, you are one heck of a shameless man. Now I know your true personality.” Jessica crossed her arms and hissed coldly, clearly irritated at being fooled by him.
She was asking a genuinely curious question but was responded with a sarcastic response instead.
Lei Zhen shrugged his shoulders.
“I have replied honestly, and if I really know the method of gaining a good relationship with the NPCs, then I wouldn’t have revealed it in the first place.” He calmly explained.
Information was extremely valued, especially if it could help improve a player’s achievement in Magnolia. Hence, no one would be willing to give out such valuable information free of charge.
“Anyway, I’m wondering if you would ever play with us again? After all, being an actress means my gaming schedule is quite limited, and I have to be wary of the people I play with now.” Jessica swiftly changed the topic of conversation and asked another question.
And for some reason, Lei Zhen felt like he was a suspect being interrogated by the police for a crime. It was always him being asked and not the other way around.
“That’ll depend if our goal is aligned again for us to play together.” He said in a subtle way, not giving her a clear answer. To play together or not, that wasn’t something he would know.
Even Tang Qiaolian, a close friend of his, was unable to play together with him constantly except during his first few days in Magnolia.
Magnolia wasn’t some typical game where all players had one goal only, but a game where there are numerous goals to do.
While he was struggling to find Magnoroid Core and leveling up, others would be struggling somewhere else such as hunting dungeons for loot or doing some task assigned by the NPC.
Thus, it was impossible to guarantee that one could play together unless they were casual players that didn’t care much about their stats and achievements.
Jessica nodded her head in understanding.
“Well, I understand you might be busy but are you interested in going to the opening theater of my new upcoming movie starring me and Bella?”
Lei Zhen raised an eyebrow and was about to reject it because he wasn’t interested in such an event.

He sighed softly and enquired about the date of the opening theater. “If the location and date don’t work for me, then you can’t blame me for not joining.”
