MMORPG: Crowd Control - 228 Backup
When the assassins’ class players all began to reveal themselves and were ready to attack their group, Jessica was beyond furious.
It was as if using this many people to fight their 3 woman army wasn’t enough, but they had to resort to assassins as well.
She clenched her fist and stomped the sand in frustration. “Damn it, are we really just going to die here right when we just finished a hard-mode dungeon?”
Just when she thought their end was near, Lei Zhen came up from behind and patted her shoulder.
“Why are you frustrated, Jessica?” Lei Zhen asked calmly, almost as if the enemies attacking them didn’t exist.
“Did you finish up your plan?” Jessica turned around and asked in excitement. She was so ready to counterattack and give the enemies a taste of their own medicine.
Lei Zhen nodded his head.
“Of course, why else did you think I’m calm right now?” He replied, but Jessica could feel the atmosphere change slightly.
Although Lei Zhen’s facial expression was the usual, she could subtly tell that he was angry as well. It was just that he was good at controlling his expression and did not show anything on the surface compared to her.
Lei Zhen ignored the dazed Jessica and turned his attention to Bella. “You’re exhausted already, Bella. Just get rid of the barrier and take a rest now.”
Bella smiled bitterly and nodded her head.
She was indeed at her limit and could barely keep the barrier intact. Thus, hearing Lei Zhen telling her that it was fine now, she quickly released the barrier and nearly stumbled to the sand.
“Candice, you too. Stop wasting your mana to retaliate and take a rest behind as well.”
“Yes, Master…” Candice replied weakly and retreated to the back.
As for the enemies that saw this scene, they were only sneering and snickering at their actions.
“Heh, should have just given up in the first place to not waste our time and effort. Unfortunately, you have successfully enraged all of us, so don’t expect a swift death. We’ll make sure you would all pay for messing with the Ravenoid Clan.” The same average third-rate villain person shouted in an egoist manner.
Hearing the villain talk as if they were being generous, Lei Zhen nearly laughed at the clown.
“Oh dear, Ravenoid Clan? I’ve never heard of it, but one thing is for sure. Not only will I not hear of it, but I will also make sure no one else would remember the Ravenoid Clan either.” Lei Zhen stepped forward and said calmly.
Though his calm was more dangerous than ever since even the clown-like person could feel a sudden chill.

“Hmph, trying to scare me? You are already at your ends.” The person shook his head and tried to get rid of these uneasy feelings. “Hurry up and attack them. Don’t let those women rest up, and make sure to torture this man.”
However, just as the person commanded to finish Lei Zhen’s group off, a new barrage of spells appeared. The barrage of spells wasn’t aimed at Lei Zhen, but at the clown’s group instead.
A loud explosion occurred and dust began to gather up from the sand that had been hit with the explosive spells.
“W-What just happened?” Jessica asked in a dazed voice in the back. “Did we encounter some good Samaritans to assist us?”
“If there were some good Samaritans, then we wouldn’t have been in such a pitiful state, Jessica. I’m sure it was him who had called for backup.” Bella responded as she glanced at Lei Zhen curiously.
“Though to call for backup and have the people arrive here quickly is a surprising feat. This area doesn’t have any teleportation, so it’ll take forever for any backups to arrive.” She added, clearly unable to comprehend how the backups were able to arrive so quickly.
As they were confused by the situation, Lei Zhen arrived in front of them and smiled gently.
“Thank you for stalling for this long. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have been able to set all this up and checkmate them back.” He said, giving them some water bottles to rehydrate themselves.
Now that the backup he called had arrived, the situation had been overturned and it was his turn to be the bully.
“Who are those people, Zhen?” Jessica drank a mouthful of water before asking him curiously.
Bella and Candice also had their heads up, staring at Lei Zhen since they were curious as well. The most curious person was actually Candice because she had never seen Lei Zhen interact with these people before. Hence, she couldn’t understand where and how he was able to call them out for help.
Seeing these women’s sparkly eyes, seemingly waiting for his answers, Lei Zhen could only chuckle softly to explain things to them.
Though he made sure to turn around and order a person first. “Griselda, make sure to capture that hideous clown alive. As for the other people, do as you please. But keep in mind, I don’t want them to have a swift death.”
Once the order was done, Lei Zhen returned his attention to the three women and calmly explained the situation.
“Those people are members of my guild, Zero Fear. I even dialed Jack Scarecrow personally to set up a temporary place for me to use as a guild headquarter for my members to teleport in. Afterward, Jack Scarecrow was kind enough to provide one of their military vehicles that allow my members to come here instantly.”
Jessica had her mouth wide open when she realized they were all members of his guild.
“I didn’t know you joined such a capable guild and was even able to ask an NPC to let you set up a temporary guild headquarter.” She said in an astonished tone.
Lei Zhen’s explanation might sound simple, but she knew very well just how hard it was to achieve that kind of feat in Magnolia.
