335 Memoir of the past: One palm to conquer all (part-1)
“Fuck the bastard who assassinated Damien.” A particular chaotic being thought that if not for a certain someone making a move to kill Damien, he wouldn’t have possibly gained access to his innate powers, and they wouldn’t have fallen into this mess. “Did someone see that bastard’s face?”
Odon Durston had only seen the back of the person that tried to eliminate Damien. He didn’t get to see who it was. But he knew it was a man and a very high-ranking rebel from the way he was dressed.
Verona Edilanti: “It’s the vice-leader of the rebels.”
Odon Durston: “Marty, I will kill you if I get out of this situation alive.”
It wasn’t just Verona and Odon but also many others who were cursing Marty. They were mentally communicating with him, and he had no way of stopping their curses from pouring into his mind. He could do nothing but silently endure their mental abuse, not replying to them, just sinking deeper into his thoughts.
‘Since he has so easily suppressed us, the rumors about him having the innate strength to kill gods must be true.’ Marty’s expression contorted when he remembered how Damien was looking at him like he was an ant that anyone could stomp upon at any time. “If I had taken actions a bit earlier, that trash wouldn’t be alive to look down at me in disdain, and I would have all the time in the world to dissect his body and sip his divine power like sweet nectar.’
‘Everything is messed up now.’
‘He is too much for the current me to handle.’
Marty’s initial plan was to kidnap Damien and leave the Alliance of Evil in his dust. When he sensed that he had suddenly changed, it quickly changed to killing him, picking up his corpse as loot, and running away from them.
The reality was like a cruel slap to his face, however. He wanted him dead or alive, but the way things were now, he couldn’t touch him, much less drag him away.
‘I guess… I have no choice but to abandon my plans and escape without him.’
Occasionally, the screams of a pig getting butchered could be heard. Damien was going around, beheading one member of the Alliance of Evil after another.
Marty knew very well that sticking around here any longer would result in his death.
Thus, while cursing Damien in his mind, Marty gritted his teeth rather forcefully, crushing one of his front teeth.
It was a rank-5 runic item. He had replaced his teeth with it. As it was a consumable item, it could only be used one time. Its rank was also too low. But compared to other rank-5 items, its market price was considerably high, almost comparable to rank-3 items. Its market price was so high because of its rarity and special effect. It could teleport a person to any place that they have in mind at the time they crush it, regardless of the situation they were in.
Even though Marty waa bring pressed down by Damien’s divine power, it worked and teleported him to his secret hideout.
His body disappeared in front of Damien’s eyes in an instant, and that displeased him.
“He is distracted. Now’s the time to overcome the restriction he had placed upon us.”
The enemies’ senses were quite sharp. Their faces were planted in the muddy ground by Damien. They couldn’t see anything, but they could feel that he was emotionally disturbed. As for what caused it, they didn’t know, nor did they care. They only took advantage of this situation.
pAn,d a-n0ve1 Suddenly and simultaneously, inner energy, chaotic energy, and black mana erupted from the back of the rebels, chaotic beings, and the crimson mages, respectively, breaking the force that Damien was using to hold them down.
Set free from their restraint, they kicked themselves out of the ground, backing away from the menace in the center of the rose garden.
“Brat, we have been going easy on you all this time. But now that you have angered us, how about you taste this?”
The crimson mages pushed out their palms, and out of thin air, dozens of huge black hands manifested under the sky, quickly merging into one. The result of their fusion was a devilish hand as big as the renowned Snow Peak.
Its fingers were like the pillars of heaven, poking through clouds and thrusting deep into the sky. The black lines on it seem to resemble flashes of lightning, instilling fear into the heart of the onlookers. They felt as if those black lines would jump out and drag them into the pit of hell.
“Can you guess what this is? No, right?” Odon Durston looked into Damien’s eyes haughtily. “This is the hand of death. It’s a forbidden spell that needs at least 20 crimson mages to work together to be conjured. It is known for flattering mountain ranges and turning lush green fields into areas inhabitable for countless ages.
“Its power grows depending on the number of crimson mages used to cast it. The more, the stronger it will be. Dozens of us have worked together to create it. Its power has already surpassed all expectations. It can even squash a Realm Lord to death!”
Damien looked back at him fearlessly, simply saying, “Are you done? If so, come and get killed.”
“You fearless brat, let me see what expression you will have in the face of death! Now, die!”
Odon Durston and dozens of other crimson mages guided it towards Damien, exhausting their black mana to do so.
Whoosh!
It brought along mighty gusts of wind that threw away the rebels as it slid toward Damien and the people behind him, casting a shadow on all of them.
Touch by the air of death surrounding it, everything in its path quickly decayed.
The rebels that were blown by it quickly became a skeleton, dying in a split second.
Countless people gulped at this sight, feeling afraid.
