I Am In Marvel - Chapter 17
Chapter 17: Cruel War (1)
At the end of the brief and short encounter with the enemies, Kyle began extracting the spoils of war. When the German soldiers died, their belongings no longer belonged to them and thus held an extractable status.
“What is this?” Kyle raised his brows and looked at the two sheepskin scrolls he found. His mind flashed, and soon, two messages came into view.
【Encrypted Map I】: Contains a detailed topographic map of the German war zone as well as its own temporary base area.
【Encrypted Map II】: Contains information collected by German elite teams regarding the distribution of U.S forces, combat camps, and material transport routes in the war zones.
“Huh… It’s no wonder they have the guts to go deep behind enemy lines. Turns out that it was an elite team sent by those German higher-ups.” With a thoughtful look, Kyle took the two sheepskin maps with him.
The map was equivalent to a strategy; with the respective distribution of the two armed forces as well as the detailed terrain of the local area, no wonder the Germs placed much offensive pressure on the U.S military.
Kyle quickly extracted the other various equipments from the German soldiers and transferred it to his military vehicle. There were not too many ammunition for Kyle, and there existed no guilt in owning the military supplied that ‘should’ have been plundered by the enemy.
Looking at the military vehicle he plundered himself, Kyle thought of cleaning up the two bodies of his fellow comrades in the driver’s seat and carrying the slightly damaged vehicle with him. Bringing a truckload of military supplies, he could be regarded as armed and dangerous.
Then, he stood on the small slope and looked towards the war zone not too far ahead, softly murmuring, “It’s time to join the battle on the front lines.”
Having experienced the baptism of killing an enemy for the first time in his life, Kyle had a deeper understanding of his strength. He believed that with his skill cards and items cards, he had full confidence of breaking into a large scale war.
Since it is a necessary experience in this new life, he might as well experience war in itself to its fullest violence!
… … …
War Zone… The Front Lines.
Boom!
Da!
The sounds of bullets and guns mingled together as if playing a symphonic masterpiece against the backdrop of the red and blue flames of the bullets. Under the harsh daylight, shells and grenades exploded nonstop and into the night. The Americans and Germans were at war.
The U.S military defended and resisted blindly using the stone and earth as their pit for cover lined up in line and continuously blocking the Germans wanting to break through the front lines.
And though the bullets and shells continued to harvest the lives of the Germans, they managed to invade the American’s defense line inch by inch using the bodies of their companions lying across the ground as shelter. Little by little, the distance between two opposing foes in the front lines shrank.
“These Germans have been brainwashed. They’re complete madmen!”
The leading black sergeant in an American platoon gritted his teeth and glanced at the body of the bloody soldiers around him.
Clenching his fists, he yelled at the intercom, “Our soldiers are running out of ammo! Haven’t the reinforcements and supplies from the rear come yet?! If we go on like this, our middle line of defense will only last for another ten minutes!”
Soon as the sergeant’s words fell, there was a dull sound flying overhead. It landed on the pit a few meters before his eyes. Then, a soldier on the side exploded into mangled flesh.
