Qiao Yun was actually in a difficult position too.
Fortunately, she had Zhou You. She didn’t take anyone else’s car; she took a taxi instead.
Qiao Yun nodded her little head: “Mmm, that’s fair.”
“Not bad,” Qiao Yun praised Zhou You, who was in the driver’s seat.
Zhou You: ??
He was somewhat flattered and a little bewildered.
But in any case, I was praised by Professor Qiao.
Excited, Zhou You stomped on the gas pedal, and the car roared, starting to drift at high speed.
After a moment of silence, Qiao Yun said, “There’s still time before class begins.”
Zhou You, thumping his chest with determination, grinned and assured, “Don’t worry, I absolutely won’t let you be late.”
Qiao Yun felt that Zhou You was a diligent bodyguard, just a bit slow on the uptake.
Too bad he wasn’t her student, or else she would have penalized him to copy lines ten thousand times.

With the main character gone, their rivalry had no point.
Before getting into the car, Li Hanzhou glanced at Pei Ya and said with a smirk, “Cradle snatcher, you’ve got quite the appetite.”
Pei Ya was angry. He was only 26, how was he old?
And, tender grass? Where?
Lu Jingzhi looked at Pei Ya, a clear note of suspicion in his demeanor, but Pei Ya’s status was not something he could afford to provoke.
After a good while, he tentatively said, “Mr. Pei, my sister is still young and just came out of the countryside. She doesn’t understand a lot of things and probably isn’t a match for your friend’s status.”
Upon hearing this, Pei Ya let out a scoff: “No problem, I don’t want to be friends with her either.”
Lu Jingzhi frowned, “Mr. Pei, what do you mean by that?”
With a playful smirk, Pei Ya said, “I’ve wanted a little sister since I was young. The first time I saw Qiao Yun, I felt she was the sister I’ve always wanted. So, let’s discuss this—if you don’t want this sister, why don’t you give her to me?”
“That’s not a funny joke,” Lu Jingzhi said, unable to muster a smile.
Pei Ya’s eyes fell on the delicate flower Lu Ting, and he drawled, “After all, you have two sisters, and it seems like you prefer your stepsister over your own sister.”
Lu Jingzhi stiffened slightly, unable to rebut.
When Qiao Yun had first come back, to avoid making Lu Ting feel unbalanced, he indeed hadn’t given Qiao Yun any extra care.
That led to Qiao Yun’s current lukewarm attitude towards him.
“Mr. Lu, remember to give her to me if you don’t want her anymore. Just because you don’t like her doesn’t mean she’s not in demand.”
After saying that, Pei Ya didn’t care about Lu Jingzhi’s face, dark as the bottom of a pot, and turned to get into his car and leave.
The boss didn’t want them to interfere with her ordinary life, and he complied, but that didn’t mean he couldn’t antagonize Lu Jingzhi.
Ha, Pei Ya felt refreshed.
Professor Qiao didn’t care, but he, who considered Professor Qiao as a mother, certainly did.

Lu Ting glanced sideways at Lu Jingzhi, who was driving. His face was somber, and he seemed to be in a bad mood.
She lowered her long lashes, feeling resentful, jealous, and angry. These feelings swept over her entirely.
Yesterday, she intentionally called Lu Jingzhi in the middle of the night to pick her up, just to show off to Qiao Yun today.
But in the end, the person who ended up looking like a clown was herself.
“Big brother, are you unhappy?” Lu Ting asked him.
Lu Jingzhi indeed felt conflicted, but still shook his head, “No.”
He was just reflecting on what Pei Ya had said.
An outsider, why would he think that he didn’t like Qiao Yun?
Could the attitude he displayed be that obvious?
Seeing Lu Jingzhi looking somewhat self-reproachful, Lu Ting bit her lip.
“By the way.”
Lu Jingzhi momentarily set aside the matter of Qiao Yun and praised Lu Ting, “I heard from Dad that the project was a success largely because of you. Tingting, you’ve done a great job.”
Lu Ting smiled nervously, “We are family after all, helping each other is only right.”
Hearing this, Lu Jingzhi felt much better.
“There’s a contract signing next week, I’ll personally go to thank them.”
“No!” Lu Ting cried out in alarm.
