Chapter 670: 669 I am very happy
Mo Xiuchen walked up to him, a smile tugging at the corner of his lips, he merrily said, “Ah Mu, let’s head to the airport now and take the earliest flight back home.”

He no longer asked him to book the flight tickets, but went straight to the airport.
Qin Mu hesitated for a moment before quickly refuting, “That won’t work.”
“Why not?”
Mo Xiuchen’s eyes shimmered with a sharpness as the smile faded from his lips, his expression returning to its usual coolness.
Qin Mu glared at him, irritably retorting, “If we’re to return home, there’s no rush at all. Have you already spoken to Uncle Gu and the others? Or is it that they haven’t permitted you to return home, causing your sudden urge to sneak away?”
Mo Xiuchen snorted, looking at Qin Mu as though questioning his intelligence, “Do you think that I am the kind of person who needs to sneak away?”
Qin Mu furrowed his brows and aimed a light fist at his chest, his expression one of annoyance, “Don’t look at me like that. Uncle Gu would definitely disagree with your return. Otherwise, it wouldn’t have taken this long.”
A smile surfaced in Mo Xiuchen’s eyes “The process isn’t important; what matters is the result.”
The thought of seeing Ranran soon improved his mood and energy.
Watching him turn and walk towards the elevator, Qin Mu followed, nonchalantly asking while they waited, “When you return home, aren’t you going to call Wen Ran to let her know?”
Mo Xiuchen chuckled, turning his head to look at Qin Mu with a meaningful look. Qin Mu, uncomfortable under his gaze, asked, “What are you looking at me like that for? Did I ask something wrong?”
“No, I will call once we return home.”
Having said that, Mo Xiuchen walked into the elevator, leaving Qin Mu with a puzzled expression, wondering what the meaningful look in his eyes meant.

As they left the hospital, Qin Mu told Mo Xiuchen, “I need to return to the hotel first. Have you been staying in the hospital all these days since you arrived in D Country?”
“Yes, I’ve been staying in the hospital ever since I got here. What’s back at the hotel? Don’t tell me, you still have luggage there?”
Qin Mu’s eyes slightly flickered, “I’m going back to check out. I assume you’ll be gone for a few days, so I figured I’d check out of my room now and book a new one when I return.”
“Fine.”
On hearing Mo Xiuchen’s agreeable response, Qin Mu inwardly let out a sigh of relief, pointing in the direction of the hotel, “The hotel I’m staying at is not far away, we can walk there if that’s okay with you.”
“What do you think?”
Mo Xiuchen gave him a cold stare and started walking ahead.
He wasn’t so weak as to be unable to walk a few steps, although he did tend to feel exhausted easily, especially after bouts of pain. Currently, his mood was good and thus his energy was better too.
Walking to the hotel in front of them, should be no problem.

G City, 9 p.m.
When Wen Ran got off the plane and came out of the security check, Gu Kai was already waiting there.
“Ranran, over here.”
She didn’t know that someone would come to pick her up and was preoccupied with her thoughts, not noticing Gu Kai until she heard him. He was standing in the crowd, waving at her.
As Wen Ran walked over, she asked cheerfully, “Brother, how did you know when I would arrive? Did Qin Mu tell you?”
Gu Kai eyed her for a moment before saying, “Ah Mu gave me a message. He told me to tell you that they might arrive in G City tomorrow, or the day after. According to you, they are changing flights twice and resting twice along the way.”
Because Wen Ran’s phone was switched off, Qin Mu had sent the message to Gu Kai, asking him to pick Wen Ran up and pass the message on so she wouldn’t worry about Mo Xiuchen.
Hearing what Gu Kai had to say, Wen Ran’s eyes flitted with a hint of sadness, but in an instant, she regained her beautiful and light smile. She linked her arm with Gu Kai’s and walked towards the airport exit, “Brother, do you know when I saw Mo Xiuchen in D Country? I was just sitting in a coffee shop opposite the hospital, and he and Qin Mu were sitting on a bench outside the hospital. Despite the distance, somehow, he sensed me looking at him and came across the street into the cafe, just short of coming upstairs.”
Listening to Wen Ran talk about Mo Xiuchen almost discovering her in a tone that was both boastful and coy, Gu Kai watched her brilliant smile. His heart felt like it was being wrenched by an invisible hand, a pain that couldn’t be described instantly spreading.
“Ranran, stop talking.”
He called out to her in a pained voice, with a deep sense of tenderness and compassion in his eyes.
Wen Ran smiled mischievously. “Brother, I am not sad, really. I am very happy. This shows that Mo Xiuchen and I share a spiritual connection. Him coming to see me, it makes me feel…”
“Ranran, before I came here, Dad called me again. Their research has made continuous breakthroughs. He said that they must succeed this time. This is also why he agreed for Xiuchen to come back and see you. Dad feels that when Xiuchen comes back to see you, you can accompany him to D Country for treatment.”
“Is that true?”
Wen Ran looked at Gu Kai excitedly.
The two had already left the airport while conversing.
Gu Kai’s lips curled into a gentle smile as he looked at Wen Ran’s expectant eyes and softly said, “Yes, it’s true. I am not lying. I also feel that instead of pining for each other like this, it’s better if you accompany him for his treatment. They have already successfully conducted tests on animals. They will observe for a few days before proceeding with further experiments.”
Upon hearing Gu Kai’s words, Wen Ran fell silent.
Seeing that she wasn’t saying anything and was just standing there with downcast eyes, Gu Kai’s heart clenched. He softly called out, “Ranran.”
Wen Ran blinked before looking up to meet Gu Kai’s concerned gaze. There was joy in her eyes. “Bro, thank you, thank you, dad.”
Her voice held back a sob.
The success of Gu Yan and Professor Brown’s research was naturally better than relying on Fu Jingyi.
Gu Kai smiled, gently pulling her into a hug, patting her back a few times, then letting go, his voice gentle as he said, “Ranran, you don’t need to thank your brother, nor do you need to thank your dad.”
“Mmm.”
Wen Ran nodded, just as she prepared to turn away, but Gu Kai had already pulled out a tissue and begun to wipe away her tears.
He sighed lightly. Earlier, when listening to her recount how Mo Xiuchen had almost found her in a falsely cheerful tone, he had thought that he preferred for her to cry than to put up a brave front. But now, actually seeing her tears, he realized that he couldn’t stand seeing her forced smile any more than he could stand seeing her cry.
Wen Ran sniffed heavily. Crying in public was not something she enjoyed. She awkwardly tugged at the corner of her mouth, “Brother, I can wipe my own tears.”
Watching her, Gu Kai laughed softly, “Better stop crying or people will think your brother is a jerk, bullying such a cute little sister.”
“Pfft!”
Wen Ran genuinely laughed this time, her eyes still wet with tears. She glanced in the direction Gu Kai was looking in, and quickly took his hand and pulled him towards the front while speaking:
