Lin Gantang knew that hiding was the most useless strategy, it made no sense for someone intending harm to walk openly in the daylight while the victim cowered in the shadows.
She thought, if things got really bad, she would ask her family for help, considering she was pregnant, she couldn’t be reckless to avoid any slip-ups.
One evening, upon returning home from work, Wen Yanqing noticed she was preoccupied and asked her what was wrong.
Lin Gantang disliked keeping secrets from each other, feeling how much better it was for a married couple to be open and clear with each other to avoid misunderstandings.
So she recounted to Wen Yanqing about her encounter with Xing You that day.
Meanwhile, the people Wen Yanqing had sent out were secretly keeping an eye on the area, and his heart turned icy when he heard what Lin Gantang explained.
But he suppressed the surge of fierce emotion, gently stroking Lin Gantang’s back, saying soothingly, “Don’t worry, leave it to me. Xing You, you say? I think she might be a good entry point.”
Wen Yanqing would not use Lin Gantang as bait; if he wanted to legitimately eliminate someone, naturally, he had to put in some effort off the main track.
If she couldn’t sit still, then his opportunity to act would come.
“Don’t be afraid, you have someone protecting you from behind, nothing will happen to you or the child.”
Wen Yanqing had recognized this threat early on, so he had instantly taken measures to ensure Lin Gantang’s safety.
“Later, I need to go out for a bit to take care of some things,” Wen Yanqing said.
And on the other side, after leaving the mall, Xing You headed straight for the Gu Corporation.

She didn’t wait as planned downstairs, but went to the receptionist to register and took the elevator up.
Xing family and Gu family had some business dealings, and by revealing her identity, Xing You could gain entry into Gu Corporation.
She walked up to Feng Yangyang’s desk.
Feng Yangyang looked up from her work, surprised, putting down her pen, “Didn’t I ask you to wait downstairs for me?”
“How could I waste your time? It’s easier if I come up to you,” Xing You said nonchalantly.
Feng Yangyang looked around, noticed colleagues glancing their way, and then pulled her to the break room.
“Here you go, it’s the latest model, very suitable for business galas,” Xing You handed over the shopping bag she’d picked up from the mall that day.
Feng Yangyang opened the bag which contained a rose pink dress.
“This color might not suit me…” Feng Yangyang said hesitantly.
Feng Yangyang’s usually plain expression couldn’t support such a vivid color, but Xing You persuaded her, “You should try switching styles. It’s not every day you get the chance to accompany your leader to a gala, and as a secretary, you represent the CEO; your white dress won’t cut it.”
Upon hearing this, Feng Yangyang felt somewhat persuaded, thinking there might be some truth to what she was saying.
“Thank you, how much? I’ll transfer it to you,” Feng Yangyang said gratefully, “If it wasn’t for your help, I’d have no clue what to wear to the gala.”
“No need, it’s a gift between friends,” Xing You said generously.
Feng Yangyang smiled then flipped the dress’s tag over, astonished that such an ordinary dress was priced at sixty thousand yuan.
Feng Yangyang hadn’t forgotten telling Gu Zhichuan initially that she’d run out of money and took the job for medical expenses; spending sixty thousand on a dress now didn’t match her situation,
so she bit her lip, transferred twenty thousand to Xing You, saying guiltily, “Because we’re friends, I can’t just take it for free. But my savings are limited, can I pay the remaining forty thousand gradually once I get paid?”
Xing You had just nodded when Feng Yangyang asked her with concern, “Have you seen Mr. Wen lately?
Xing You glanced at her before saying with a smile, “Mr. Wen is not so easy to meet; I haven’t had a chance to contact him yet.”
Feng Yangyang was puzzled, looking at Xing You, who seemed sharp enough, how come she hadn’t even managed the simplest contact?
