Instead of walking back, they drove.
Dan Hanjie was the driver, with only Qin Youxuan as a passenger.
She carefully glanced at him and seeing that he was still angry, Qin Youxuan dared not say a word.
What if he got upset and threw her out of the moving car?
Once they were back at the Yujing Villa, Qin Youxuan’s face fell.
She was starting another period of confinement inside the house, unable to venture beyond its gates.
Only a few days of this solitary confinement, and she was beginning to forget what the outside world looked like.
If she had known this would happen, she wouldn’t have announced their marriage.
“It will be over soon.”
Dan Hanjie glanced at her, his eyes deep and patient, seeming to be suppressing something.
“Dan Hanjie, I’m not blaming you, like I said, I’m with you,” Qin Youxuan nervously held his hand, explaining her position.
After a moment’s thought, she blinked her cat-like eyes, her fingers playfully poking his palm, “I’m just a bit bored. Really, just a tiny bit.”
“…”

Dan Hanjie didn’t say anything, just reached out to ruffle her hair, pulling her into his embrace, holding her tightly.
…
The daylight gradually faded.
As soon as it grew dark, Qin Youxuan pushed Dan Hanjie into the study.
Instead of making him stay with her, and then working late into the night, it would be better for him to finish his work early and have a good night’s sleep.
With this in mind, Qin Youxuan cajoled Dan Hanjie into the study.
“You don’t have to stay with me, I’ll just sit here and read. You can work, I promise I won’t disturb you.”
Qin Youxuan pulled over a chair, intending to sit next to him, when Dan Hanjie reached out, pulled her into his arms, biting her neck, “Little wildcat, I can’t work like this.”
“…Should I go back to my room?”
“No.”
“…”
What should they do then?
He certainly couldn’t stay up all night.
Qin Youxuan wiggled her bottom, going back to her own seat, picking up a thick professional textbook, pretending to concentrate on reading.
If she ignored him, he would be able to work, right?
As expected, Dan Hanjie stared at her for a while, then refocused his attention, opening his laptop, beginning to work.
Phew–
Qin Youxuan let out a silent sigh of relief.
Putting her heart at ease, she began to read.
As she read the thick law book, she started to yawn.
Unable to resist the sleepiness, she propped up her chin, stealthily watching him work.
He really was domineering when he gave orders.
His tall figure leaned back against the chair, one hand holding a phone, the other moving the mouse, looking at the information on the computer. He scolded his subordinate mercilessly and all without a single foul word.
She wondered who the unlucky soul was; not able to rest late at night and even getting a dressing down.
She was dying of sleepiness, but he was scolding someone enthusiastically.
Qin Youxuan grumbled, her head tilted and she fell asleep on the desk.
Once Dan Hanjie ended his call and turned around, he saw her sleeping sweetly, her closed eyes accompanied by a faint smiling expression.
Something in his chest tightened as if something had flowed into his blood.
Hanjie stared at her face for nearly half an hour. Seeing her shifting uncomfortably in her sleep, he finally rose from his seat with a furrowed brow.
Moving to her side, he gently lifted her in his arms and returned to the bedroom.
He bent down to kiss her lips.
“Uh…”
Qin Youxuan didn’t wake, her little hand instinctively grabbed his shirt, her voice low as she hummed.
“Buzz–”
The sound of his phone vibrating was particularly clear in the quiet night.
Hanjie reluctantly got up, quickly grabbing his phone and headed for the balcony to take the call.
“Mr. Jie, we have brought the person up…”
